My first mini though often had more ice on the inside than out. ! I remember scraping the inside of my old Austin Mini screen & side windows on icy mornings. Also the rear window when the aftermarket stick on heater element inevitably peeled off. 1 Quote

Only downside is that it doesn’t switch on the heated seats or heated steering wheel, I have to wait until I’m in it to do that!! Sounds like bliss. Shame on them for letting you get briefly chilled fingers though, a terrible oversight on their part, I’m sure they’ll be an app update soon Edited January 7, 2021 by Slowlycatchymonkey Quote

I threw a cigarette back through someone's window at a junction a few years ago. James in Brum Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I find it odd that some people don’t think of fags as litter. 1 1 Quote

I reported a police for doing the same he pulled up outside one of those fortress type stations where they don't want to interact with the public. He flicked it out and drove through automated gates, I picked it up pressed the button and waved it at the camera, apparently they are not supposed to smoke in the cars and voice man said he would be spoken to, probably laughed at more like. Tiggie Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 As far as rubbish from cars the one that genuinely pisses me off is Mcdonalds carparks. There are bins dotted all over them and people just open the window and chuck it out 2 Quote

Wish I hadn’t let it go, great car. Great I had one of those, couldn’t stop it pouring smoke out the exhaust. Quote

rennie Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I'll tell you all about cold cars at 0545! My poor old diesel Astra takes about 15 mins. to get even slightly warm Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Just finished helping my son submit his university application so I’m wide awake which is annoying. I read his personal statement and feel bad I’ve intervened but if you read it you would too. It was really sweet, his family obviously mean a lot to him because he mentions nearly all of us at some point! It’s hard knowing whether university is worth the bother in a lot of areas now but I suppose I’d rather they were in education while covid works it’s evil on the unemployment figures. I should probably just be grateful it’s an option. 2 Quote

Well let’s hope he gets in and once completed his education doesn’t have to go into the fast food industry, one of my son’s friends worked for Maccy ds before he did 4years at uni then came home and guess where he works now maccy ds. Brrrrr I don’t think even the -30 degree temperature I experienced in Canada can top that. Hosing down the milking parlour with the coldest water I’ve ever encountered was impossible to do without getting wet yourself and then having to get back on the tractor. It’s no wonder I have an obsession with cold weather gear now Edited January 7, 2021 by Slowlycatchymonkey 2 Quote

Yes it’s a distinct possibility isn’t it but I’d rather he did something he enjoyed and hopefully has a good time before settling into a McDs job. It’s all a bit bleak on that front, especially now so if I can give him four more years of being young, carefree and optimistic I’d rather that cos one way or another life’s coming for ya and once it starts it doesn’t stop! Trooper74 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 (edited) My first car , Morris Minor , didn't have a heater fitted ... it was an extra .... ! in winter driving over Salisbury plain to Newquay i would have to stop now and again to scrape ice off the inside of the windows ... Or stop breathing .... The Transit has heated screens front and rear ... Edited January 7, 2021 by Trooper74 1 Quote

Surprisingly Weston where we live has the course with highest ranking, they know him and have guaranteed him a place so that’s the back up. Then he chose on the course and ratings which meant Guildford and both Bristol Uni’s. He wants Bristol and really so do I. If everything goes tits up he can always come back, live at home n commute. He’s deferring til 2022 so he can earn money to give him some sort of cushion. You have two going at the same time? Quote
