To get this back on the subject of fund raising ... :D

Just subscribed, I wasn't aware this was as easy as it was to do.

Now I can feel entitled to ask for help on my first 'big bike' that's gonna need a little tlc

Good luck with the new software,

Shep

At this rate Stu will be able to upgrade the zx81 to a c64 with a floppy drive, it's high tech but it's ok he says Six30 is used to a floppy drive.

However, at the moment there's no inducement to subscribe for those who haven't felt compelled to do so to date, so maybe there's a way to offer some kind of benefit to subscribers that would convince more people that it's worth doing.

Agreed, but that is the crux of it. What would be worth it for those still yet to subscribe?

Sexy pics of the mods/admins?

Update on the update :?

I did a conversion on my pc at home and it all went OK ish!

I think the real test is when I come to do the forum on the server itself

It took an hour and half to convert then you have to mess around with all the permissions etc

After the conversion the forum needs to reindex/rebuild itself to re parse all the quotes and codes and the attachments this takes forever  around 8 hours

But that can be done in the back ground

I have things just about ready but a lot of it I won't be doing until I know what it looks like on a live board

I am just trying to figure out the best time to take this offline and convert it so we done leave any data or members :D

Just donated £20 towards the updated software with (hopefully) more sophisticated gammon filtering technology. :D

I'm pledging £500k to the forum!!

As soon I get the $34m my new Nigerian friend promised me

When are the quieter periods.....weekdays or weekends?

If passwords don't come over you'll need to do a bulk mailshot to let people know they'll have to regenerate.

And obviously you'll have to stagger the sending or you could get flagged up as Spam.

Quiet!

Never there is always someone on posting  I don't think any of these gammons work :D

I think it will be a case of biting the bullet and just taking it offline when I am ready

You've got to do it around your work commitments etc......so just see when it fits in.

The Gammons can amuse themselves on the Manic Depressive newsgroups or something for a couple of hours I'm sure.

Even better, they could actually grow a pair and do a bit of riding so they've actually got a Ride Report ready for the new site.

And don't forget to get Bender or Tiggie to get my FAQ's across......cos you're going to get queries so it would be much easier to just give a link to the specific answer.

Nobody here will die if at some point we find the "Under construction" sign for a couple hours if needed.

Yup it's got to be done.

Well pull your finger out and copy the FAQ's.......there's only 19 sections!

That's pure conjecture.

If by any chance you would feel the slightest discomfort because you can't access Tmbf for a couple hours I suggest you get a life... :booty:
