@XTreme Did you forget the signal to deploy the ejector seat, we discussed this, well we didn’t but we should, when the Daily Mail starts getting referenced GET OUT, it’s a lost cause, that plane is on a sure fire trajectory and it’s not to the land of reason 😆

Quoting the daily fail isn't always the most factual of sources. Haven't read it for over 10 years. Of course if you want a left leaning equivalent the Guardian is pretty good! I frequently have to go and have a lie down in a darkened room after reading anything by Polly Toynbee or Owen James. Bad for my health.

People just thieve because it is easy money, I had three brothers and two sisters growing up in a three bed council house, 5 of us were ok the other one got 3 years for theft, all brought up the same, he had a family wife kids house but decided thieving was better, o and he worked as well.

Nice left wing write up on Blair greed and the Iraq war.

Your point is lost on me though, I am the thief in waiting that should have been.

I'm pretty sure I said more likely, not certain. I didn't seek to imply a difficult upbringing will automatically make someone turn to crime.

As other people have pointed out, there are plenty of 'white collar' criminals who are no better, or worse. But I thought we were discussing this in the context of the theft of motorbikes, not criminality in general.

It's pretty much open season on crims now 😁

Could we give the ‘your political tribe are counts, no yours are’ a break no one has changed anyone’s mind on the net. Sadly greater discussion seems to lead to greater entrenched ness and f**k me it’s dull.

I think we are all of a mind they are all tired with the same brush, it's more the delusion one is better than the other

You do realise that these Gammons would hunt you down and dismember you because of your multiple speeding convictions?

I just don't know what gets into you speed freaks!

It all boils down to money, the cost of catching and convicting thieves will escalate into tens of thousands of pounds, who will front the cost, where will the money be recovered from I very much doubt a thief would be able to repay it.

What we have now is a slap on the wrist and don't do it again scenario, because it is cheaper to let the insurance payout.

and it isn't going to get any better

No it won't, not unless there is draconian action taken.

I am fairly local to you and work in the building game and if I can be of any help I would happily give you some time and assistance.

Hi Ian

Thanks for the offer, but I think I am sorted for now!! The garage now has an alarm and full CCTV, I also purchased a car (cheaply) to sit in front of the garage doors, so they cannot get to the door- it is just a pain in the backside that every-time I want to go into the garage I have to move the car.

Sounds alot more secure, good luck.

The car is a good move not only makes the door inaccessible but may give the impression that someone is at home at all times.

Not condoning what happened (3 lives changed forever on that day), but the talk about just letting the insurance sort it out assumes that the guy who owned the bike had more than 3rd party only insurance? Maybe the thieves threatened him with a claw hammer whilst they ground his disk lock off? He must have seen them take the bike, otherwise he wouldn't have caught up with them in a car. So, there's probably more to this than has been reported and maybe that's what caused him to chase them down? Who knows, but whatever, it is a pretty tragic event in many ways.
