We used to run a small project looking to lend a hand to families who were struggling. The key to it working was we made sure it kept below the radar. No-one knew it was happening which meant the people who benefitted could keep their heads held high. People's dignity matters. The best bit was the way in which in unlocked a will for people to be kind to total strangers.

I think is wonderful to see that people go the extra mile for others out of kindness.

Yes sad that in the richest country in the world people live in those conditions.

They could take a leaf out of the Travelling Community's book* . Go into an All you Can Eat for £5.99 Chinese Buffet restaurant , fill several plates to tower like proportions , send a text to summon six feral children who then rush in and scoff as much meat as they can cram into their mouths while the adults threaten to smash the place up . And yes , this did happen right in front of me .       * I know .

Ohhh don't start about the lovely travelling community they are much maligned twats mostly deservedly.

 

I was once offered a fight in lieu of payment, it wasn't a big amount either, I will not entertain doing anything for them and avoid like the plague.
