Bender Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Well not long to go now, most if not all of the cars have been rolled out, the new w13 merc sounds a bit better. At least merc have designed the car to meet new rules this time, last year's was not happy with the changes that impacted most on them and sister company due to the stance the car was designed to run at. New aero rules using directed air in tunnels rather than relying on flappy bits and barge board design are aimed at reducing the effects of running close behind another car, hopefully improving overtakes. Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 It can't get any worse than the 2021 season - which was a farce from beginning to end. 2 Quote
RAYK47 Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Making the cars easier to run close is critical for a decent and open season. The new rules will throw a little of the unknown into the mix but the usual suspects will still be there or thereabouts. Looking forward to it. 1 Quote

Trooper74 Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 They should make all Aluminium chassis and 3ltr carbureted engines compulsory ... lol . 1 Quote

MikeHorton Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 BTCC is going hybrid this year. I have to say I enjoy watching that more than F1 1 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I suspect Verstappen would agree since that seems to be his preferred method of driving. BTCC is a contact sport, F1 isn't meant to be. 1 1 Quote
Fozzie Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Looking good, and better news the other day that Michael Masi has been booted. Regardless of which end of the argument you find yourself on, he didn't apply a rule properly and it influenced the outcome of the race of the last season. His job has now been given to 2 people, so a joint decision is required now. How well this will work remains to be seen, but hopefully as the season progresses they work it out. I suspect this year Mercedes is coming back hard. Get Hamilton that last world title so he can retire and leave them with a string of records. 1 Quote

Didn't apply a rule is an understatement, did you heat the leaked conversation between Michael Masi and Jonathan Wheatley? He basically just did what redbull told him to do 1 Quote
Six30 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 you think with all his money the twat would buy some mirrors for indoors , cause there is no way he's got any... 2 Quote

He basically just did what redbull told him to do I've just gone and looked that up as I'd not heard that recording... And whoa... I at least afforded him more benefit of the doubt. And a real shame in some ways, as unless Max wins another season sharpish, especially against Hamilton, his legacy will be tarnished by Masi's decision. 1 Quote

S-Westerly Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Hey, my Mutley is 4 years old and coming up to 18000 miles. Never let me down yet and starts first time after been left at home for months on end. Still on original battery too. Anyway the Italians built the Colosseum and it's in pretty good nick for something 2000 years old. Edited February 22, 2022 by S-Westerly Quote
husoi Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 You're aware that they built a tower that isn't straight. Sorry to inform but the colosseum is half in ruins and held by wires everywhere... Bridges fall down and a major city is half underwater. 1 Quote

Fresh pasta (or noodles as is more correct) will rotten much quicker than brake fluid left in the open. I'll give you that large flour plate with tomato sauce they call pizza... 1 Quote
MikeHorton Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 I've found Croatia did the best pizzas! 1 Quote
husoi Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Typical... Someone invents something and others get better at it. Pizza - Croatia, France Noodles - Italy (pasta) Morris mini - Germany Football - Ronaldo 2 Quote

I remember seeing two policemen in immaculate uniforms standing next to a gleaming Alfa Romeo police car ( it probably didn't go but it looked superb). A guy came round the corner on a battered old moped with three kids balanced on the rear seat, there was a bit of old rope tied to a pedal bike being towed on which was perched his wife and another kid. The two policemen suddenly became very interested in something far out to sea and gazed at it resolutely until the family had puttered past and out of sight. That's what I call intelligent policing. Any nation that has police officers like that is surely wonderful. 1 3 Quote
