rob m Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 (edited) Remember that Putin does not actually press the button, he'd have to command others to do that, and I hope they wouldn't follow those orders. If Putin gets taken out, there might be others who believe his warped ideology and harm the West. His whole administration would need to be killed. Edited March 13, 2022 by rob m Quote

S-Westerly Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 They weren't that bad and I used to quite like the Ponderosa in Canada Docks. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 So far a major crisis points it's been the Yanks who have most nearly started a nuclear shooting match and Russian mavericks who have disobeyed orders and not retaliated. I remember being on a nuclear sub and the first officer saying that if it came to the crunch he was 99.9% sure someone on board would have sufficient doubts and not follow orders thereby preventing a launch. Apparently it takes just about everyone on board to be doing the right thing at the right time for a launch to happen. We can only hope someone in the Kremlin figures out that Putin is bad for Russia's interests and finds a way to depose him. Quote
Gerontious Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 I need to cheer myself up. A bag of popcorn and settle down to watch something cheerful from 1984. Threads. Perfect. There’s nothing like watching mass panic in Sheffield as a mushroom cloud appears in the distance. Or a cat writhing in agony as it burns. Lovely. fun times ahead. Quote
