Bulpitt Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I’d like to know if anybody has received any form of compensation because your bike has taken so long to repair? My son so far has waited over 3 months. He’s paying for a bike that he’s not got. Quote
Bianco2564 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Hello, What is wrong with the bike, what have the dealer's told you? Quote
bud Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 If it's still in the warranty period I wouldn't be happy with that. But if it's an older bike waiting for a part which isn't available. Not much you can do. Really need more information. Quote
Pie man Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Is the fault/defect under warranty, is it a recall or did something just break. What makes you think you would be entitled to compensation & how do you envisage compensation being calculated. Lots of unknowns. Parts, postage and good old Brexit. Keep on at them, keep asking for dates, when will the bike will be ready, once you have enough failures to deliver, then you can build up a case, although I don't think it would amount to much and you will probably be wasting your time. bonio Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Must be gutting for your son, but it's a hard fight. You're best off trying to put pressure on the company to pull their finger out. If it's a dealer you can write to the dealer head office. As Pie man say, write down what happened and when. If its a repair under warranty or for a recall, the consumer rights act says these have to be done in "reasonable time", so if they're delaying for no reason, you do have a claim, and you can ask the consumer advice bureau for advice. You won't get any compensation but you might them to get their act together and stop delaying. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 If it's a new bike still under warranty you can ask them to extend the warranty for the period has hasn't been able to use it. Quote

That’d be the biggest loss as you’d essentially have to wait a year before really enjoying the bike again. Quote

S-Westerly Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I ride all year round and on days when I get to choose to ride enjoy it; but why is it when I have to get somewhere and the bike is the only option is the weather always, always, utterly horrible? Monsoons, gales, snow, freezing cold or if I'm really lucky all of the above. 3 Quote

For me its closed season when it’s excessively wet or there is white stuff on the road Ice or Snow it’s not fun, I have a car and see no reason to arrive at work wet or damaged. 1 Quote

S-Westerly Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Quite chilly today. 18 C with a breeze putting a lot of dust in the air from neighbouring deserts. 2 Quote
