No , K&N is the wrong choice for all weather riding . The handy 17mm nut is only spot welded on and is very likely to shear off if the salt has got at it .

Big balls !

Fixed my sticking brake light switch . Nothing actually wrong with it but the master cylinder piston was sticking badly . A bit of WD40 to separate the boot from the plunger and it's right as rain . No more melted tail light bulbs which , incidentally are the same as fitted to a Jeep so you can avoid Harley Tax .

There's a new player in the market place called Completely Bikes . This is the Hinckley branch but they tell me that they have ambitious expansion plans . I liked the fact that there was room to walk around every bike .

I cannot un know that my bike is called Harriet now . Nah , to be fair , the bike formerly known as Harriet is having a lovely time galloping all over Wales at the moment . We're camped out under a starry sky a few miles north of Harlech where I seem to have made a new friend .

It is a step up but I'm gaining confidence .

Unless the MOT states to replace the disk I'd just leave it if you're happy with the braking . Removing stubborn disk bolts is rarely an experience that ends well . In the incredibly unlikely event that the police should question it , just tell them you stuck new pads in and it seems a lot better .

Thanks again everyone .

Whatever it is , don't put it off because winter is just around the corner . I fancy a blast around Snowdonia to round off the a memorable year in which I can say that I owned two different Harleys .

Feel free to post as many pictures of my bike as you want . The more the merrier .

Blu Tac on a stick .

I thought this was something serious like a bolt down the cam chain tunnel .

Nah , you always get a tight spot , or a loose spot depending on how you look at it , on small bikes . How is the output shaft going to be bent ? It spins round so it's not being pulled in any particular direction . Just buy a higher spec chain .

My Nob of the Day goes to James in Brum . Yes , a fellow member although not currently active . And before there's an outcry I'm sure he will take this in good spirit . Right then . You know that reserve fuel line that you replaced on the ER5 ? The big chunky one that was about three inches too long ? The big chunky one that you folded in half to make it fit under the side panel ? Folded it in half thus preventing any fuel from flowing when the bike goes onto reserve . Yes that one . The one that's been doing my head in for weeks . Nob !

Failed CBT due to attire
fastbob replied to Jemz's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
I agree . But on the occasion I reached 46 mph going downhill on a bicycle with luggage , my bare elbows did start to feel very , very vulnerable .. -
If there's no chance of rain on Sunday , are you up for a meet up at some equidistant location or even further afield ?
-
Yeah , only fitting , found out earlier today .

What makes you think they have even taken a CBT ? Or paid for the Scooter ? -

No untoward noises . Definitely not a Harley .
