  1. It works well & yes you can get a blank to glue on one end for a couple of quid, but I used something I’d got lying around. The bung was only £7:50 from Wickes, couple of quid cheaper on eBay, but I didn’t want to wait. Going for a ride out in a bit, see if it falls off / apart
  2. I made a storage tube for Zippy - got the sort of plan off the ‘tinternet. Made from a scrounged bit off 4” plastic pipe ( @Bender ) will be familiar with the parts used. Sealed one end with the top of an old kitchen canister I had lying around in the shed ( as you do ) and added some sticky pad stuff used to cushion the carpet from the leg of the sofa, needed to stop it rattling or rubbing against the fuel tank. got a couple of TESLA Rubber -LIned PIpe Clips to mount it with a bit of bent metal, bolts & washers sourced from the shed. Open end closed with a Rothenberger Steel Drain Test Plug - basically expands a rubber bladder to seal the end as the wing nut is tightened up. Total cost - £11 Works a dream - just have to wrap the contents to stop them rattling.
  3. You think you’re having a bad day?
  4. Drinking beer & eating chips while watching the Weston Super Mare beach enduro.
  5. Happy Birthday @Tiggie Special Chippy tea to mark the occasion?
  6. I got a cheap Garmin Zumo 590, it’s worked well so far. … but I need to find out how to turn off the ‘Fat B*stard’ setting, i.e. it bleeps ever time I go near a cafe & it clutters the screen with eatery icons
  7. Are you aware of NABD ( National Association for Bikers with a Disability) ?https://www.nabd.org.uk/ They have a wealth of knowledge on this kind of stuff & you might even qualify for a grant to facilitate a conversion.
  8. OMG … pass the Kleenex
  9. Happy B’day @fastbob hope you’re having a good one.
  10. Mate had a Shadow, was utterly reliable & an every day ride, had it for 5 years and sold it for more than he bought it for, only sold it coz he’d run out of space.
  11. Now sorted, got these from Stratford Autojumble on Sunday - Alpinestars Tech 7’s really good condition and only £50
  12. If you can stand an early start, get across to Hoar Park tomorrow morning, judging by the forecast there will be a good selection of bikes there, plus the Cafe does a Biker special Sausage or Bacon roll plus tea or coffee for £5. Get there for about 10:30 for full effect, everyone buggers off from about 12:00, including me.
  13. Yeah, it’s only a short stretch, but I’ve mapped out a series of lanes linked by roads that goes to near Daventry, gonna get a mate along, shouldn’t really be green laning solo.
  14. I’ve checked the TRF green lane map & on the OS map app - here it is in green:
  15. Went scoping out some green lanes, there’s one leading over the busy Burton Dassett hills, never have I had so many disapproving stares while doing something legal.
  16. After getting my leg trapped between the bike & a fence post doing a bit of green laneing I think I need some properly protective boots. So if you’ve got a pair gathering dust and taking up space, I’m looking to spend around £30 for some used MX boots size 10 / 10.5
  17. Happy birth….. ooh look … cake yum, now where was I?

  19. Indeed I never pay full price for a Domino’s pizza, usually get 241 but pick up only.
  20. Spotted this in Newquay today, quite tidy in my eyes.
  21. No, but over bloody priced £89 ??
  22. Having done a couple of Bikesafe courses I can identify with the Observer effect, we were told to ride as we normally would so the feedback would be useful …. Yeah right, with a copper up your chuff that wasn’t gonna happen, so it was a nerve wracking process of reigning back my normal exuberance while not riding like a spinster with a box of eggs in the top box. They were not fooled, at the first stop and feedback session I was told to stop dicking around and ride properly
  23. Being a chopper the harness might be home brewed, look up a standard harness for ( I’m guessing ) a XS650 heritage. is the bike new to you or is this a problem that has just happened?
  24. Happy birthday @rennie, here’s hoping there will be Cider involved
