Going on a local TRF green lane run on Sunday - there was a warning with the invite … “Likely to be wet & muddy” …. No shit Sherlock

Got an adventure type lid to go Green laning in. LS2 from M&P £45 with free P&P should have been £129:99, so a right bargain - the colour scheme is a bit shouty but was the only one in my size, fits well.

Interesting point, it was a new nurse, the last one - let’s see if I can put this politely without being accused of ‘ismness’ … was obviously good at her job but did nothing to make my heart pound. The new one …. So maybe there’s something in that !!

Just had my blood tests back - a yearly thing to keep tabs on any PSA movement as I have an enlarged prostate and a couple of other issues so I get the full works. PSA - fine Cholesterol - 4.9 ok at the mo but watch out Sugar levels ( Diabetes check ) 49 - down 2 points from last time and going in the right direction, another 2 point reduction to get out of the diabetic range. Liver & Kidney functions all good. The Nurse then took my blood pressure didn’t believe the 1st reading and took it again, nope both the same 210/109 … suddenly things went very serious, I said I suffer from stage fright so I went and took it with the machine in the waiting room which gave a figure if 157/87, still bad but not immediate intervention serious, got a machine to take it daily for a week then report back, see what happens

Welcome @Gregorie nice to have you on board… but I’m afraid that if you’re looking for insightful discussion on MotoGP you’ll be very disappointed Joking aside, look for the MotoGP chat thread. Follow this link https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/forum/24-racing-and-track-days/ I’m Sure things will start to perk up when we get nearer to the start of the season

The problem with mine was that it was registered to the wrong f*kn address when fitted, took them 2 years, a complainant raised with the Ombudsman and £100 compo to realise & then the address it was registered to wouldn’t cooperate at all ( don’t blame them ) When the Haggis botherers finally realised the error of their ways they had to come to our place to sort it out … twice they sent an appointment & twice I said it wasn’t convenient & arranged a different time/day & both times the turned up on the original one … of course I wasn’t there and was greeted by a pathetic piece of card on the mat saying I’d missed the appointment … Bunch of

Don’t get me started on f*kin smart meters !! Scottish Power fitted ours Jan 2020, they are still not able to connect to them & I have to provide readings … there has been a very long saga of corporate incompetence along the way, I have now give up trying to get it sorted … so my advice is DO NOT agree to have smart meters fitted !!

Today’s rant by me … An absolute plethora of temporary road works have recently sprung up around our way, all with poorly phased lights creating chaos with holes in the pavements & roads which will no doubt be poorly repaired & turn to potholes within a matter of months !! If I was El Presidente, anyone digging up the road should be forced to resurface a 1/4 mile stretch of the complete carriageway adjacent to the hole to a very high standard without passing to costs onto utility customers !!

Went out to scrub in the new knobbly rear tyre on Zippy & try it out on a couple of green lanes…as you might imagine, after the recent torrential rain it was a tad slippery and muddy as Fcuk, think the new tyre did the job well though … all the gear went straight into the washing machine.

absolutely, he’s said the same to me at times, embarrassing really as you realise you’ve overstepped the mark.

I nominate my mate. Rode out for brekkie at the cafe at Hoar park and a gander at the bikes. It was very wet with a couple of sharp showers so we got a little damp. There were not many bikes but loads of people in the cafe. After looking around and seeing many familiar faces without bike gear, my mate started moaning about all the ruffty tuffty bikers who turned to their cars as soon as it gets a bit wet. I pointed out that the majority were all old guys and this is probably the only excuse to escape retired mundanity & talk bollox with like minded mates during the most miserable time of the year. My mate carried on grumbling about it until I told him to just shut the f*ck up - he can be a real knob sometimes, but a good mate most of the time.

Challenge 2024 Challenge 2024 - Discussion Thread

So cafe ‘Junction 1 Ten’ counts as both 1 & Ten? -
That mod was already done on the F650GS when I got it … I had to tidy up the connection & wiring as it was just twisted & swinging in the wind.

Replaced the one on the right with the one on the left Hopefully Green laning will be more forwards than sideways now

Went pre-Covid, got the train to Euston then two tube swops, then the Dockland Light railway - a real faff - was pissing down so didn't want to go on the bike. Show seemed quite small TBH and not really worth the £. On the way home we were stuck at Euston for 2 hours as out train was cancelled due to a body on the track near Watford, put me right off.

Temporary Puncture Repair -Tubed Tyre
Mickly replied to Mickly's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Yeah, Slime is what I'm thinking to get me to a more robust repair solution, just wondered if there was anything else (apart from Mousses) as removing and fitting an enduro tyre with levers needs Gorilla type hands. -
Temporary Puncture Repair -Tubed Tyre

Trouble is with buying assistance is that I'm not sure it would cover green lanes and as much as I could argue that I'm on a 'road' I'm not sure the AA would agree -
For me it’s more about not being able to do the stuff I want to do coz family & friends think I must have loads of spare time & find ways of filling it, when I really should be on my bike.

The oil cooler is very vulnerable on the Trophy, mine was mullered.
