Me & the missus have everything in joint names, but I manage all the financial matters. The reason for everything being in joint names is to make things easier if one of us kicks the bucket. I had a bad experience helping my Mum out when my Dad died as everything was in his name & she had no access to any finances, this caused her huge stress & was convinced that she was to be made destitute, thrown out of the house & the banks would keep all the money.

I remember scraping the inside of my old Austin Mini screen & side windows on icy mornings. Also the rear window when the aftermarket stick on heater element inevitably peeled off.

My Disco has a heated screen, plus the added bonus of an app that lets you set the interior temperature remotely so at this time of year the engine starts, heats the interior & defrosts the windows while I drink my cuppa - all while being securely locked. Only downside is that it doesn’t switch on the heated seats or heated steering wheel, I have to wait until I’m in it to do that!!

Don’t despair, a soldering iron, solder & flux plus some fresh wire & shrink wrap is all you need. I could take a photo of the wiring diagram in my Haynes manual if you give me the model year if you like? -
Any biker with an ounce of sense would wear a helmet, doesn’t need to be compulsory.

As @Slowlycatchymonkey says, the helmet thing is all about choice not legislation, they see it as the thin end of the wedge, that for example, could lead the mandating of full face helmets & the use of CE certified clothing, invalidating insurance if not used.’

I endorse this recommendation- I read it during lockdown, loved it. Got Jupiter’s Travels for Christmas & I’ve already finished it, not hugely impressed & certainly didn’t do a lot to inspire me, where as the Dan Walsh book really had me thinking!!

It’s not static, you can load 1000’s of digital images & have them automatically cycling through. The missus & grandkids loved it.

We’ve got a digital photo frame that started flashing & then wouldn’t work at all, I tested the power supply & it’s ok. so I opened up the back to see if I could notice anything untoward!! Yeah right !!
