One thing I noticed is he doesn't commit to saying they won't be in non built up areas. I understand the reason for them. Some areas have issues with loud noise at night. But I think these will become widespread over time unless EVs become the norm

I'm sure we have all heard that noise cameras are being introduced to our roads. A YouTube channel I follow has interviewed the head of the company that manufactures the machines. Interesting video, answers some but not all questions. Thought you lot might want to see too.

There was an inside the factory documentary on Amazon. From what I remember it's a computer that matches the packing to the items bought. Someone who's overworked would have just shoved it in and noth bothered thinking about it

They must be realising that anyone with a bit of sense wouldn't buy online from them which limits sales. TMF and motobob etc (who generally put out great content) are seen as honest men of the people, semi amateur content, no reason to misguide viewers. SBF but a wad of cash in their pockets and to piggyback off their reputations. SBF have legal obligations as a business but that's probably the most they offer as far as customer service and after sales care goes. If there is one nearby then it's a great place to browse. But I view buying from them no different that buying privately. You need to know your stuff and can't trust a word they say.

More dangerous nobs. A car had broken down on the top of the motorway off ramp on the M1. Two guys stood to the side with the bonnet up. This caused a huge tailback on the off ramp. Several people trying to go around the queue and nip in at the top like a motorcycle would. This worked for a while until there was no more cutting in space. Landover disco tries to cut across from lane 3 all the way to the off ramp in one go. Nowhere to go but into the Merc in lane 1 that's just driving along. Slams the Merc which ends up hitting the central reservation and is now stuck, stopped in lane 3. Ford focus flying along on lane 3 sees the Merc swerves to lane 2, right at a hgv with an empty flat bed, like the ones that carry cars to dealers. Hgv swerved hard into lane 1, lucky there was nobody else around or could have spun both into the dozens of cars queuing to get off the motorway. Both ended up ok but probably a bit shook. 2 women in the disco flailing arms around on the hard shoulder a few feet after the off ramp. At that point there was room for me to filter so I got moving as far away as possible before anything else happened as the Merc was still stuck in lane 3. Not sure how many nobs are in this story, all of which happened in about 4 seconds. I'm just happy I didn't leave work 4 seconds later than I did.

I've always found that the treatment has been great. Fantastic doctors, nurses, surgeons, staff etc. But it is always the opposite on the admin side. Constantly being forgotten about, appointments not booked at the right times, long waits and delays etc

Mine for today is the chap in a new fiesta on fake plates driving down the bus lanes in London, zooming in and out across multiple lanes at 8:30 am. Everyone on 2 wheels staying well back from him as nobody knows what he could do next.

Insurance problem with police and small number plate issue

Yeah changing your story could end up with a charge of wasting police time or worse -
Insurance problem with police and small number plate issue

Is lying to police on the side of the road counted as perverting the course of justice? You're not under oath or anything. It would be different if lying in court but can you be convicted of telling lies to police on a traffic stop? -
Not quite a nob but today I passed a range rover evoque with license plate VA61NHA. Fish monger I recon

Thanks, plenty of options there I'm sure will find something that suits.

Plastic I think, she won't have it for long so nothing that needs to be bolted on. No pillion. It's a 2022 xsr700 by the way

My friend has a loan of a Yamaha xsr. There's literally no under seat space to put his disc locks. Can anyone recommend a small holder that could temp be strapped to the bike with out having to have a backpack.

For commuting into London I'd be looking at something euro 4 which was around 2011 I think. Ulez has recently been expanded in London and there's talks of a further massive increase in the area it covers meaning if you're travelling anywhere near London you'll need a ulez compliant vehicle. Pain for people with nice older bikes and cars that are well maintained.
-
Is this generation ulez compliant? I'd have thought you'd have to get a cert even if it is within emissions. I've the 2011 version and agree it's a great all rounder

I had a Suzuki gxsx125 for 2 years to commute into London. It's got the full 15bhp, nice and light and nimble, led headlight, abs and looks good. You'll pick up a 2018/9 for 2k.

Bad service feels worse than bad prices sometimes. On your sat nav point I use my phone but use the case from ultimate addons. Been using it for a while and in bad weather. My phone's waterproof, submergible even but the touchscreen gets funny in the rain. The UA case solved all that.

I've just always done as you said, tell Google you don't want to go via motorway and it's worked out fine.
-
I do a similar commute on a cbr600f. 100 bhp, comfortable, fairings, easy to get parts and modifications. I've done about 2000 miles so far and have no complaints

On paper this looks like a decent overall package but the looks in my opinion are such a step back from the cb650r. It's basically a cb500f with a pointy nose

I've ordered a set of Michelin road 6 so just got to wait and see how I get on

I'm in Watford but could make my way to Ruislip, I know the area well

Thanks all, looks like pilots are the way to go. Now to just pick a place to buy/fit them.
