  1. Nice bike just not one for me. I'm used to a fairing now so it felt a bit windy, the initial throttle response feels laggy (probably due to euro 5), small tank and I don't think it's a particularly handsome machine. A lot of that is subjective to individual tastes. There's nothing wrong with it, just doesn't do it for me.
  2. The guy that hit me has admitted liability so it's all coming off his insurance. I'm not sure about my NCB, I'll fight it when it comes up for renewal
  3. I was excited when the hornet concept came out. The final product, not so much. It'll be a decent bike but the final product just doesn't do it for me. I've had an mt07 for the last 6 weeks as a loan and I'm not really enjoying it as much as some do. Another I4 or a triple will be the next bike.
  4. It's a no claims bonus not a no blames bonus. Claim is a claim regardless of whose fault it is. Just another way insurance companies fk us all
  5. Do aftermarket screens from the likes of puig make a difference.
  6. That's crazy, they should be taking the hit on that repair. I'm ok enough, no broken bones. Just a perpetual headache and damaged wrist. Getting treatment through insurance. I'm with MCE who have surprisingly been good at getting things sorted
  7. All the plastics and all the lights need replacing. The housing for the headlight too. Engine casing needs to be replaced as there's a couple deep scars. Mirrors, levers, rear brake pedal and connection bust, exhaust destroyed, pipes bent, rear wheel would need fixing or replacing. I think labour costs for all that would be the killer. The bikes second hand and 11 years old so only worth £4-5k so it becomes uneconomical to fix very quickly. Plus it would be a cat n bike so hard to sell or get a decent price afterwards.
  8. Looks like I'll get the full price of the bike back but my no claims bonus is gone even though it wasn't my fault.
  9. Aaaannd she's gone. Got hit from behind when stopped in traffic. I'm relatively ok, just really annoyed but the bikes in pieces. Insurance says it's not worth trying to fix so I'm taking the cash. Bike was taken away this morning. Was a great bike, there's a good chance I'll get another in the new year when the cold snap ends.
  10. I got rear ended when I was stopped I'm traffic a few weeks ago. Insurance assessor said it's a write off. So what I did today was watch my bike get wheeled into a van and taken away to the scrap heap. Probably be for sale next week on SBF.
  11. That's my next question. The Yamaha was a temp loan. Something needs to replace it. Was considering another comfortable sports or sports tourer. But a naked like an mt09 or similar would be an option if it's not going to be too windy and cold due to lack of fairing.
  12. I'm used to the wind in my CBR mostly being blown over my head at motorway speeds. I can travel along at any speed and not feel too much airflow. I've had access to a new Yamaha xsr700 for the last few weeks and it's completely different. Up to 60 mph it's fine but at 70 it's windy and anything above feels like I have to hold on for my life especially on bends. I did my DAS in a honda cb650r which at the time was a great bike. I didn't feel the wind when we did countryside roads when learning but it was good warm weather then. So my question is, are all naked bikes like the xsr700 where the wind will feel like you're being blown away at 70-80mph. Or is it just this bike at there's no protection from the elements at all.
  13. Who says they haven't already Glorious Magnificent All-knowing Illuminati Liaison Right, where's my tinfoil hat gone.
  14. The guy in the video seems pretty sure that they can pick out who it is automatically using the system or have it reviewed frame by frame to see who it is.
  15. One thing I noticed is he doesn't commit to saying they won't be in non built up areas. I understand the reason for them. Some areas have issues with loud noise at night. But I think these will become widespread over time unless EVs become the norm
  16. I'm sure we have all heard that noise cameras are being introduced to our roads. A YouTube channel I follow has interviewed the head of the company that manufactures the machines. Interesting video, answers some but not all questions. Thought you lot might want to see too.
  17. There was an inside the factory documentary on Amazon. From what I remember it's a computer that matches the packing to the items bought. Someone who's overworked would have just shoved it in and noth bothered thinking about it
  18. They must be realising that anyone with a bit of sense wouldn't buy online from them which limits sales. TMF and motobob etc (who generally put out great content) are seen as honest men of the people, semi amateur content, no reason to misguide viewers. SBF but a wad of cash in their pockets and to piggyback off their reputations. SBF have legal obligations as a business but that's probably the most they offer as far as customer service and after sales care goes. If there is one nearby then it's a great place to browse. But I view buying from them no different that buying privately. You need to know your stuff and can't trust a word they say.
  19. More dangerous nobs. A car had broken down on the top of the motorway off ramp on the M1. Two guys stood to the side with the bonnet up. This caused a huge tailback on the off ramp. Several people trying to go around the queue and nip in at the top like a motorcycle would. This worked for a while until there was no more cutting in space. Landover disco tries to cut across from lane 3 all the way to the off ramp in one go. Nowhere to go but into the Merc in lane 1 that's just driving along. Slams the Merc which ends up hitting the central reservation and is now stuck, stopped in lane 3. Ford focus flying along on lane 3 sees the Merc swerves to lane 2, right at a hgv with an empty flat bed, like the ones that carry cars to dealers. Hgv swerved hard into lane 1, lucky there was nobody else around or could have spun both into the dozens of cars queuing to get off the motorway. Both ended up ok but probably a bit shook. 2 women in the disco flailing arms around on the hard shoulder a few feet after the off ramp. At that point there was room for me to filter so I got moving as far away as possible before anything else happened as the Merc was still stuck in lane 3. Not sure how many nobs are in this story, all of which happened in about 4 seconds. I'm just happy I didn't leave work 4 seconds later than I did.
  20. I've always found that the treatment has been great. Fantastic doctors, nurses, surgeons, staff etc. But it is always the opposite on the admin side. Constantly being forgotten about, appointments not booked at the right times, long waits and delays etc
  21. Mine for today is the chap in a new fiesta on fake plates driving down the bus lanes in London, zooming in and out across multiple lanes at 8:30 am. Everyone on 2 wheels staying well back from him as nobody knows what he could do next.
  22. Yeah changing your story could end up with a charge of wasting police time or worse
  23. Is lying to police on the side of the road counted as perverting the course of justice? You're not under oath or anything. It would be different if lying in court but can you be convicted of telling lies to police on a traffic stop?
