I'm looking at changing my bike at some point this year. I've only ever ridden naked bikes. I ride all year round as I commute into London. I'm moving a little further out so my commute will be longer and also have some motorway miles. With a longer journey and faster roads should I consider a bike with a bit more plastic. For example the Honda's cb650r Vs CBR 650r. Same engine, suspension etc, some differences in seating position due to handle bars. Would the CBR be more comfortable in winter as it's has more protection. Or given that over half my journey is still going to be in traffic, going slow or filtering will the extra bodywork on the CBR make any difference at all.

Not tried them yet. They look like a decent glove for the money. Summer weather is still a bit away so I'll wait a while and see if any sales are put on for summer gear as I need a few things

I've just checked our local Greggs. Today's lot of TGTG sold out at 10pm last night.

Been using this for about a year. Used it about 8 times. Best so far is the family run bakery up the road. £9 bag of goodies for £3. Some great deals about but I think the offering from independent places have been better than the chains. One odd experience of picking Carribbean food up from some woman's house.

Got my cert last week and it's wrong. Currently arguing that it's a year short

Maybe these, might not be quite the level of protection you describe. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/458827

That's your monthly quote but if you use more gas/electricity than they estimate you still need to pay more on top of your monthly bill. We were with one of the suppliers that recently went bust and were transferred to another provider. They estimated total of £75 pm for gas & electric. We were paying our monthly DD but noticed after a while we were £200 behind. Keep an eye on the charge per unit not just the monthly estimate.

On a side to this, is ceramic coating any good. I've had ads on social media popping up for it cause I'm looking for a new bike

Aftermarket armour sizes

Visit a local shop or message SBS with what you need. I've messaged SBS before when I wasn't sure on a back protector and they were quick in telling what will fit -
I'm fairly central in London and chains, locks etc even sold secure ones meant nothing to the policy with mce. Even a tracker had minimal effect so my policy has no security named in it. For the sake of literally a few pounds at least as long as I have the steering lock on I'm covered. Having said that my bike always has multiple locks and other security regardless of where I go.

Oxford Montreal 3.0 trousers
daveinlim replied to Mississippi Bullfrog's topic in Motorbike Textiles Reviews
I've got the Oxford hinterland jacket. I commute in it regularly and been fine in all weathers. I work in an office so I've usually just got a shirt on my top half and it's been fine this winter. -
I got a heavy cover from xlmoto. It got stolen. Replacement was an aquatex. It's not good at all. The cover still let's rain in

BeMoto Insurance giving away Panigale V4S!
daveinlim replied to Ridewithpeaks's topic in Motorbike news
Disgrace, you should write to your MP. My quote was for London and parked on a street so I'm not surprised. Would be more likely to win the lotto than wake up and a spanking new v4s still be there in the morning. -

I bet they wouldn't insure me on it if I won -
Something like this? I've used this when it's really pouring out. It kept me dry if that's all you need https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/390564

I'd imagine a hgv comes out on top in most crashes. These figures are a % of deaths in contrast to year 1. If there are relatively few hgv deaths then a couple over or above average will have a larger effect on say bicycles

Nolan n87 great helmet for reasonable price

I got a new hjc i70 for £80 a few weeks ago. 4* sharp, sunvisor, etc. Bargain -
Walking along a fairly quiet road today (footpath on both sides 20mph limit) people at the kerb waiting to cross. Oncoming car hit the brakes to let them cross. No other cars for over 100 yards. I saw this twice in a few minutes. I'm pretty sure this is wrong by the drivers. If you're in a car turning into a road you've to let people by but not if they just decide to cross the main road.

I do the same as MikeHorton. Since, spray foam, leave for a little bit. Cleaning the bike start at the top and work your way down. No point cleaning wheels then doing the frame and having that gunk land on your clean wheels. I haven't.got a stand for the bike. I have a roller I put the bike on. That way you can spin the wheel without having to move the bike. Once it's clean and dry then lube the chain and put on a layer of spray to help protect the clean bike. Final step is to go for a quick spin then look at the bike covered in crud and start over again.
