  1. It makes me laugh im surprised Marc Marques hasn't been blamed for Brexit yet. The only one to blame for that crash was Lorenzo, to fast and to late into the turn and loses the front end then play skittles.
  2. Not sure if this is allowed on here but if not please remove this post. If any of you followed the tt you will be aware of the sad death of a very talented rider Daley Mathison. There has been a funding page set up to help his young family at this very sad a difficult time. https://uk.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-daley-mathison
  3. The racing has been postponed for Saturday as the bad weather they have had all week as caused havoc to the practice schedule. They were hoping to run some practice today (Saturday) but so far weather has not helped so hoping to run later on. Weather is ment to improve for sunday so they are going to run a practice schedule and the races from Saturday. For info have a look at this site for info https://www.iomtt.com/news
  4. For all you road race fans if you go on bbc Northern Ireland tonight (Friday 17th ) they have practice and racing from the NW200 with more on sunday and Monday night. I know on years gone by I have watched it live on Saturday on the red button but not sure if this is happening this year.

  8. Repair it properly or it will come back to bite you in the future. Take the plate off and if you aint competent to fix it take it to an engineering firm and get them to do it. It wont cost a lot.
  9. If you don't like offensive jokes don't read the posts, Its not hard to work out whats inside its in the title. Get over it.
  10. Yes Eurosport have got the rights to the highlights package, channel 5 used to have it but they lost out. Monday at 6pm on Quest then repeated later in the evening.

  12. For what its worth if it was me buying a bike and no experience I would look around bike shops in my area for a secondhand jap bike say a Yamaha ybr125 or xt125 or honda 125 of some description. There are plenty about shops know how to fix them easy and parts are easy to get and not expensive. There are to many clauses in that 5 year bike warranty you are going to have to get the seller to service it and do all the work on it for 5 years and if they aint close by that will be a pain. Buy a secondhand bike ride it build up your experience and learn to do maintenance on it look after it and it will hold its value if you want to sell it on. A relative of mine brought a lexmoto scooter a few years back and the finish looked ok underneath the poor fittings and build let it down. Every time it broke down it had to be trailored to the dealers twenty miles away then wait weeks for bits to turn up and forever working on it.
  13. If you have a decent battery and spark I would drain all the petrol out and put half a gallon of fresh petrol in. If your bike has a carb drain the float bowl to. Petrol goes off after a month or to, once you are up and running mix the old petrol with the new stuff to use it up.
  14. If I remember right the 400s will be japan imports but they are higher specced and had electric starters but the 600 are Europe bikes but are kick start only. They have quite a following and are thin on the ground now, have a look for a forum or a single cylinder forum im sure ive seen a group somewhere. Not sure how the riding position will effect your arthritis try to get a sit on one. Other bikes to consider are the Honda xbr 400/500 and my favorite the Suzuki Goose 350 but they are rare over here.
  15. Have you seen this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-Yamaha-SRX400-Unregistered-Japanese-Import-Classic-Restoration-Project/312434733090?hash=item48be8fb022:g:4EIAAOSw0YlcQv9I And on the 400 version you get an electric foot so makes life a bit easier. Personally I think they look brilliant.

  19. Hi Fastbob if you don't mind me asking the bars you have on your bike. I see they are Renthal are they a standard bend ?
  20. Try this company they should be able to help. https://www.powerhouse.uk/content/motorcycle-brakes/motorcycle-brake-caliper-refurbishment-service.php
  21. What they have is a centrifugal clutch at one end of the drive belt then a variable pully at the other end. at tick over the clutch is disengaged but as the revs rise it engages and at the same time as speed increases the rollers in the pully are forced outwards on ramps to alter the gearing allowing the belt down into the centre of the pully so it gives you variable seamless gearing. You can alter the take up and acceleration by changing the weight of the rollers. What happens is the rollers get a flat side so they tend to stick or slide instead of rolling in the ramp channel. It could be rollers or drive belt worn out or clutch worn hard to tell with out riding it.
  22. I would be happier if they knocked the t#@t off then drove over the scum a few times until he bled to death.
  23. It could also be the rollers in the transmission system have worn so they wont roll when you accelerate but slide and stick. They are easy to replace and you can get different weight rollers to alter the way the bike accelerates. Here is an example of what im on about https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexmoto-FMX-125-14-0g-Heavy-Duty-Variator-Rollers/273283274445?epid=2075089434&hash=item3fa0f3d6cd:g:sIUAAOSwLq5bHlD9:rk:1:pf:0 Have a google of automatic transmissions on scooters to get an understanding on how they work.
  24. Have a look at the Suzuki RF600/900 fuel tap its just what you are locking for https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/suzuki-rf-900-Rf900r-fuel-tap-1995/323524047872?hash=item4b53893400:g:HGYAAOSwZs1b1xkV:rk:2:pf:0 This isn't a very clear image have a search for a better picture.
