Im not sure of the size in the picture but they are called spire captive nuts or chimney nuts, Have a search for them and you may find some that are the same size.

So If ive guessed right you work for one of the wealthiest landowners in the country and they are not prepared to do anything to modernize the properties that they own and bring them up to todays standard. Landlords have a lot to answer for there are far to many landlords that take the high rents but will not update their properties forcing tenants to live in cold damp and drafty deathtraps. Shame on them.
-
That is not a good situation to be in I dont know the construction of your house but there are various grants that landlords can get to insulate properties. Some are free like cavity wall insulation to loft insulation and on to double glazing in some cases. Impress on your landlord in the light of global warming and going green that they need to do their bit.

I never understand why riders and drivers complain and moan about laws and the possible consequences. If you ride like a complete moron and get caught its tough, as the americans say suck it up and get on with it. Ive done stupid things but it was my fault thats life get on with it. Unfortunately there are riders and drivers out there who think laws and limits dont apply to them and they can do what they like. If they lose their car or bike tuff, I dont know if anyone on here saw the police interceptor prog from a few weeks ago and the investigation into the death of a motorcyclist. At first sight you are thinking car pulls out of a junction bike hits car must be car at fault. At the end of the investigation with cctv and a lot of evidence it turns out the bike was doing over 70mph in a 30 overtaking cars then jumps a red light at roadworks. He hit the car that had right of way at the roadworks at around 70mph and was killed instantly.

His brother had originally put a deposit down on it but things changed so my dad brought it instead. Sadly this is not around as far as I know. I would love to find the Arial though. Sorry about the quality of the second picture I know somewhere there is the original picture I will have to find it.

AS others have said if the axle nut done up tight it wont move but if it concerns you just nip up that nut probably 1/4 to a 1/2 a turn to take the slack out of the adjuster plate.

To Everyone who runs the forum and those that contribute throughout the year hope you have a great christmas and an even better new year. Best wishes.

Hi there if you dont have the skills to straighten it can I suggest an engineering shop or garage to heat it up and straighten it out. It doesnt look to bent.
-
You say you are going to update your will can I also recommend that you look at any pensions you have as your ex wife could also benefit from your pension if you were to die. Good luck for the future.

Just drill it and if they come round on their inspection every year put a bag or something over it, then when you move out remove it and fill the holes with mortar.

Dont put anything outside to make it obvious what could be inside and as S-Westerly says put a big ground anchor in and one in the wall as well. Try not to work in there with the door up so people can have a look at what you have in there to. Its a shame we have to go to these lengths but its the times we live in and the scum out there that want to nick it. You could put a cheap remote alarm in there they make a hell of a noise in a confined space.

He must of had his head up his rectum if he didnt know about the legistation coming down the line. It has been known for ages that cars/vans with diesel/petrol engines will be banned from 2030 and bikes from 2035. After that you will have to have an electric or whatever they come up with or stick with your petrol powered bike. He seems to like the sound of his own voice and is very boring.

If the front wheel is damaged that needs checking carefully either get it replaced or if possible professionally straightened and check for an indent in the headraces as a whack that hard on the forks put a dent in the race and you will notice it when the bars are turned side to side.

Want to learn how to ride a motorcycle…..away from the road
Old-codger replied to Leeboy's topic in Newbies
Look for an off road motorcycle centre in your area, riding dirt bikes is a great way to learn to ride and falling off dont hurt much in the soft stuff. These centre usually have beginner sessions to get you started. -
