1. Loose women are no longer on the agenda as I have riding buddy or witness That was careless lol, I presume bribery wont ease the situation lol. Cheers Ian
2. Just a thought for your journey up. Are you coming all the way up the A34 to Bicester and then across to MK? If so you might like a little detour up the back lanes by Stowe school that pop out in the front of Silverstone just to get that long dual carriageway plod out of your system. At Bicester look for the station and follow that road to Finmere bypass (A4421) let me know if you spot the topiary Peppa pig and the thatch duck family on the cottage ridge lol. Left at the roundabout after Buckingham golf club and look for Stowe then turn right into what looks like the driveway (if you read bike magazines this is often featured in photo shoots). Hope you have fun what ever you decide to do. Cheers Ian
3. I thought that too ! Till I zoomed in and saw "James" on the tank. Very similar but definately not a D1 exhaust and my old D1 had a squeezy horn up through the steering stem. Still happy to be wrong though as I am used to it. Cheers Ian Having found this on the net I would say its a Bantam D1. 183224.jpg Well found ! I would say you are right. Cheers Ian
4. I believe its a James Cadet ! It is quite possible I am wrong lol. Cheers Ian I believe it's a D1 Bantam!! My mate got one in his garage!! Been there 25 years, got it out and running 2 years ago! His missus was over the Moon Until I took it back She thought he was going to sell it No chance of that I thought, stays in there with the other 3 bikes!! I thought that too ! Till I zoomed in and saw "James" on the tank. Very similar but definately not a D1 exhaust and my old D1 had a squeezy horn up through the steering stem. Still happy to be wrong though as I am used to it. Cheers Ian

7. Wouldn`t fit any of mine but seem to clean up well. Have you thought about getting them as clean as possible then protecting under a clear coat? Just a thought. Cheers Ian

Hi and welcome. I don`t suppose that 400 is a ZRX400? Cheers Ian
10. Used to make duct boards out of old pallets things were a pain in the rear for loosing stuff. Kick boards on the other hand would be a great idea if I didn't have so much heavy stuff under the bench which would need lifting over to get out. I am definitely thinking about trying the magnetic tape though as I think that might stop some things dashing out of site. Cheers Ian
11. Looking at the thing the engine reminds me of a copy of an early Bantam and the frame and running gear from a Puch Maxi lol. I am sure dynax is going to have a lot of fun with this. Cheers Ian
12. Thanks TimR that's a cracking idea. Cheers Ian
13. There speaks the voice of experience lol! Cheers Ian
14. Thanks Chris These are the mirrors that came off the race bike so they can sit in a cupboard from tomorrow for a few days. I did clean with thinners after rub downs. I have always had trouble getting a decent finish with cans but I now put it down to youth and impatience lol. Yes its been a while since I painted something ! I will post close ups when they are unmasked ! Cheers Ian
15. I wonder if I might ask for your opinion. I have been refurbing some old Hayabusa mirrors and used similar paint products to yourself. I have applied 2 coats of primer and flatted in between coats ten 2 satin black and flatted then 2 coats of petrol resistant laquer and wonder if any more are required? These are currently drying and I don`t want to touch lol Do you think this will suffice? Cheers Ian
16. For some reason I think Richard Hammond did a bit of filming with him shortly before he died. From what I recall I think Hammond said something like never meet your heros as even that late on he was erratic and just not "right". Cheers Ian
17. I remember that because I was there ! Lots of waiting all day and then the let down of the crash at the end. Most vivid memory of the day was a group of circus performers including a guy who did a shallow dive into what to me looked like a paddling pool from a platform that looked about 12 to 15 ft high, I thought he was bonkers then and I still do. Knieval was a disappointment if I am honest and wound the crowd up with quite a few approach and stop runs but I suppose that's just playing your crowd. Cheers Ian
18. Ooh good point thanks. I'd better tell mce about my other mods... Would suggest you get your tongue out of your cheek prior to lunch Cheers Ian

Exhaust help

Hi Just so you know on the ZRX 1200 in particular you blank off all that stuff and it pops and bangs all over the place lol. Great fun and I I will accept its childish lol. Hatfield tunnel is one of my favourites Cheers Ian
21. In the past I read an article where rust was removed from inside a tank by putting in a length of chain that had nuts and bolts through it (So they aren't loose in the tank). The tank was wrapped in several blankets and left going round in a cement mixer till the rust had been scraped off. Seemed a beautifully simple idea. Obviously the loose rust will have to be cleaned out using spirit afterwards. Possibly worth investigating as those chemical treatments really do seem to have mixed reviews. Cheers Ian

You need help and you need it now !!!!!!!!! I like dynax but question his judgement on a daily basis. Cheers Ian
23. There are two minor errors here. The purchase and branding of children is generally frowned upon. But the probability that this refers to not buying second hand lids is sound. The other error is of course that the discerning biker would only ever invest in a Triumph. People will tell you otherwise. They are wrong. They are entitled to be wrong. It is after all a free world. But they are wrong nevertheless. No tint of bias there at all my amphibious friend lol. Shame we cant brand children anymore lol. Didn't like the little buggers even when I was one myself (that is ancient history I know before some clever fooker points it out) Cheers Ian
24. Just be careful, if they do prosecute and you get found guilty the punishments are more severe than those with an early guilty plea. I'm sure it's a real tough situation to be in. Just remember these solicitors command a fee and are good at their job but but if it goes wrong it could be worse. Just have a think and consider were you speeding and way up all the pros and cons. Wish you all the best I go back to earlier comment ! Start wearing dark visor get other half to take some of the strain ! In all seriousness I wish you the best of luck and hope yur brief is good. Even better if your insurance has legal cover. Cheers Ian
25. Well done lass. If you can get the insides of jets and other tubes the same you will have done well. I have on occasion had to resort to a 50. 50 mix of diesel and coke and a week long soak. Have you had a person less worried about electrikery hook up a battery yet? I would be wanting to check lights, horn etc but starter motor at first with plugs out please. Good luck and we are rooting for you. Cheers Ian
