1. I was going to say that I do but after those photos I'm not too sure
2. That's ok, we don't really like eegits anyway...
3. How about who lives in Scotland and doesn't have facebook?
4. I would say RV is Rendez vous abreviation. Kinda muster point but posh
5. Well... Comparing us to Spanish... That says everything about you and your attitude.
6. Right, Acoteias is in Algarve. The part of the country we send the tourist to take their money Lisbon or Porto is far cheaper and friendly, I went to Lisbon last July and the most I paid for a meal was €20 in a fancy restaurant. Lots of places where you can eat very well under €10
7. I'm sure that wasn't Portugal. The drug problem is as bad as any other country in Europe. Expensive? You can get a 3 course meal for £12-£15 if that is expensive I would like to know where you go to eat...
8. I've taken Glucosamine Sulphate supplements for 20+ years cos of my knees.....they do make a difference. I'm with cat's claw powder capsules that I fill myself and cod's liver oil for my arthritis. Take the odd Ibuprofen when the weather is changing
9. Happy Birthday Col (Captain) Tom Best wishes to the capless hero .
10. My shed isn't that big and very drafty
11. Happy Birthday XTreme Soon you'll (we all) be back on the saddle
12. This will show you why Japanese motorbikes are so precise
13. I don't fancy the idea of any of them But next time I go to Portugal I want to bring some of the food they have there. Another good thing about a trailer is that you will get far less speeding tickets. Only if you remember to abide by the lower speed limits and that you are restricted on the amount if lanes you can use on a motorway ie 3 lanes or more you are not allowed trailers in the outer lane Indeed, and with a trailer you have the perfect excuse to stay away from major cities Get to a campsite for 2 or 3 days and go on those fabulous countryside road without no additional weight.

16. Well. Mad Max is the obvious choice isn't? Then you will have the ghost rider
17. I do the opposite, mostly camping and the odd day on hotel. There we have a long shower and a good rest. that keeps it going for another few days. Another advantage of a trailer is that you don't have to take it with you to the room If is strong and well locked to the bike, one makes the set safer, nobody will think about stealing a 300kg bike with a trailer attached to it, and two, you have plenty space for the helmets in the panniers so you can walk around just carrying the camera. I can even takes the boots off and put sandals.
18. You don't want to go there Hotels are more practical but more expensive. Camping is not only cheaper is also a lifestyle option.
19. That doesn't work when you are stopping in different places and my touring is around Europe. Need both to get more storage, hence the trailer, and as I did last time that most stuff stayed on the bed
20. Lets split my luggage on the bike in 2. (2 weeks trip) Tools, sat-nav, phone, docs, summer gloves, tent, air mattress pump, extension lead phone charger. Mine: riding boots, jeans that I'll be wearing for the whole trip, plenty underwear (will wash most of it halfway the trip), toiletries (shaving, toohbrush etc) 4 t-shirts. waterproof sandals (for walking around, beach and shower) swimming shorts, 1 multi-purpose towel. Wife: 5 pairs of trousers, 30 sets of underwear, 18 pairs of socks, 24 tops (t-shits, blouses) 2 jumpers, 5kg of toiletries, riding boots, closed shoes, open shoes, black sandals, brown sandals, 4 pairs of shorts, bikini, swimming suit, beach towel shower towel Pretty much something like this...
21. Thank you all for the advice Made a couple changes to design. The wheel will run flush to the side of the box, cutting the box to 80cm I'll have it just under the panniers width and the wheels will also run at 80cm end -to-end. Will still have a box with 1.35 X 0.80 X 0.40 m = 380 lt or with an extension of the side wall by 20cm as planned to 1.35 X 0.80 X 0.60 500 lt. IF that isn't enough space better get an RV
22. You would think so I believe my mirrors shrink when between cars 86cm seems a reasonable size
23. That is an excellent question. 86cm at panniers and 98cm at mirrors.
