  1. Wouldn't heavier duty springs make the clutch harder to operate?
  2. depending on use you would either have the springs with the service length or shorter. Never longer than spec.
  3. I would consider something like that if would include a helmet cloth bag and some way to fix the strap. However you still have the bouncing effect of 1.5kg hanging of your shoulder
  4. Do the job properly and you will only do it once.
  5. Anything not involving new plates would be a waste of time. Even if not warped the friction area is contaminated and having been subject to heat they won't be working properly
  6. 2 options: Replace the gas meter box (depending if arrives by Thu) or "staying local Mandatory stop at Ansthruder for a fish supper
  7. Yep, those look like had better times. The black stuff on the friction plate looks like burnt dried oil
  8. Problem with these type of training is the lack of practice lessons... I'm a supporter of "practice makes perfection." but nobody believes me
  9. Just been told about drugs and alcohol training. I wonder what type of training this is.... Sounds like a lot of fun
  10. The worst place to hold a helmet is by the chin protection. If the strap would go on the neck strap I could see the point. Another downside is how bouncy it will become and you risk to hit something with it. Still prefer to hold it with my hand and place it safely when possible.
  11. If you have the possibility to get one of these: https://www.dhgate.com/product/hd-720p-wifi-ip-camera-outdoor-1080p-wireless/401536164.html?d1_page_num=1&skuid=650508062448914436#s1-18-1;searl|1996413017:19 You can check on the phone and is a great deterrent. thieves won't be interested in having their faces on display
  12. I strongly advice for a dedicated sat-nav. I've heard of an excellent second hand one for sale not far from here...
  13. Have you check the clutch switch at the lever? Wired as a steel cable? That won't be wired, is just a cable actuator instead hydraulic. Wired is electrically wired. Going back, if the rod isn't bulging then you may have the clutch wrongly assembled...
  14. IF the electric actuator is working then it is obvious that it's the plates that aren't disengaging. If you have just reconstructed the bike then the engine would have been sitting for an extended period with dry clutch disks. Have you tried running the engine and press the clutch? This would allow oil to get in between the plates. I would just run the engine, press the clutch lever and hold it with something and engage 1st gear with the wheel off the ground so the clutch will heat up and the plates start to separate as oil runs into it.
  15. So it will have a solenoid that will actuate the clutch. or... Does it?
  16. Old engine oil? Is the clutch cylinder working properly? air in the clutch system (hydraulics to cylinder)?
  17. Finally managed to mount the jetwasher's motor onto the air compressor. Then found out that the piston is a load of shaite and now that everything would be fine, ht damn thing decided not to work Will have to replace the piston bit with something else. That's what you get for buying cheap crap...
  18. Insurance companies like bankers are licensed robbers... Would you have space for a small metal shed as the ones in the adverts in the forum? Will count as a locked garage for insurance and what they don't see they don't want.
  19. That's the only time I would go mental and brake their arms and legs in several places. Cover the rainproof cover with a thin copper mesh and plug it to the mains... That will stop them.
  20. If you can get a "dedicated" phone just for sat-nav then you can save up on memory usage and main drive space. That will help with overheating.
  21. It won't work with traditional turbines. A design I created years ago would work better as it is more efficient allowing it to be smaller (1/3 of size) for higher power. Unfortunately Strathclyde uni was never interested in developing a prototype and I don't have the means or the money to register the IP.
  22. They should fit wind turbines on cargo ships then
  23. Makes you wonder if the captain of the Concordia have a new job...
  24. Abosolutelly not!! Just pointing that accidents happen. Last thing you want is to damage the 275in fancy TV if the bike is knocked over by someone.
  25. And that's what I strongly suggest you should do. We have enough tw@ts going there and enjoying themselves. Last thing we need is moaning tw@ts... PS: aren't hookers cheaper in Birmingham?
