  1. Getting there with my new wine rack. Looks a bit rustic but hey, I love in the countryside Unfortunately run out of clamps so can't finish it today.
  2. See it on the bright side. Migration will be on a all time low Time to ask for a raise
  3. You can always get the ferry to Spain, Belgium or The Netherlands
  4. It all depends on how much is the deposit, how much can you afford to pay every month and how low you can get the credit card APR. It is a risk but frequently you can find deals with credit cards with interest free transfers for a substantial period which can help you in repaying. You MUST keep in mind that paying a large amount on a credit card will mean a large minimum monthly payment and eventually high interest rates.
  5. Have read here. Other sites are available https://www.gocompare.com/mortgages/borrowing-a-deposit/ It is common in me to misread information and I read refurbishment instead
  6. Maybe I'm being thick but, why are you paying for a loan for works on a house that it doesn't belong o you?
  7. Technically solstice was this morning around 10:30 but for me is the day that counts
  8. From memory loans for house deposit has become unavailable since 2010 or thereabout. I would ask a mortgage broker for advice how to go about it. Usually a good broker doesn't cost you anything as they will get a commission from the lender.
  9. Yes, and soon weather getting better. The downside is with the eegits in Scotland not understanding what lock down means soon we will be on a 3rd wave. Looks like the Rocky movies...
  10. I know you guys will curse me for days but... Since when solstice thread become a bumper thread?
  11. Wishing you all a very happy solstice day.
  12. Repaired the extractor fan in the kitchen, the toilet flush, halfway through my new wine rack. All this using my purpose made tools. Router table table saw and metal clamps
  13. Funny coming from the man showing more sex on daytime tv than channel 4 telling people to get condoms... He should mention that condoms are not biodegradable and will last as long as a plastic bag.
  14. I'm about to finish work until Jan 4th YYEEYY
  15. I've been toying with the idea of getting some too. The thing I've noticing is that cheaper ones come with low capacity batteries while the more expensive ones will have a better battery. Like in everything, you get what you're paying for.
  16. Considering that decent heated grips will cost around £50 to £80 and I found that I can get a good pair of heated gloves for £40 it makes me think that I'll be better off with the gloves. Advantage is that you can take them with you until you get indoors. Easier to replace if they get faulty while grips you have to dismantle half of the bike (ST1300 in my case). downside is you will need more than 1 battery pack for long trips. How good are they? No idea...
  17. After covering it in saw dust while doing some diy it was time to clean again the vacuum chambers and the sliding black thingy in the VT700 carbs. Now just need to figure out how the f*cking hoses are connected.
  18. Considering the speed EU usually moves this is lightning fast
  19. There is a reason why that never took of Look at those ludicrous shorts...
  20. Setenave was the sister company from Lisnave Lis as in Lisbon and Set as in Setubal Because Setnave is a lot smaller than Lisnave they managed to keep running. Lisnave closed for a short period back in the 70's but because at the time was the largest dry dock in the world it was the only place where the largest tankers could be serviced so they had to open it again. But a few years later other large docks opened so they start making even less money and closedown. Note that both Setenave and Lisnave are located in Setubal district. https://ecmarine.com/setubal.html A brief history of Lisnave
  21. @dynax have a forum for tw@ts???? Where? Where?
  22. Maybe they will stick a finger and taste it. if doesn't taste bad it's clean
  23. I had my first Nolan for 7 years. Then moved to UK and when I got the VFR I got a Shark that made 4 years I'm back to Nolan going 2 years now and it will run until something starts to malfunction, like visor mechanism or the flip-up starts to play up. 5 years is advisory but we are responsible to ensure we have a proper lid. @Tiggie ieda is quite a good one
