  1. but back in those days cars had people walking in front of them waving flags
  2. For in town smaller the better. My old MT125 was great in and around traffic, cheap to run and insurance was a dream. I'd happily have gone for an MT03 if I wasn't using it for much further distances so got the Tracer 700. Being based on the MT07 it's still pretty light, decent enough on petrol and more than enough power for motorways.
  3. My first and brief try on a bike was back in secondary school, then once I started driving and having a heavy right foot I stepped away from wanting to get on a bike. Covid popped it's head up and I was not going to be getting on public transport. So at the ripe ol age of 47 I completed th CBT and a year on a 125 before I could take my DAS.
  4. Neer too old. I was 48 when I got on two wheels. Go have some fun on a test n ride at a local school and see how you feel.
  5. Hey Cruiser, if you take your tests on the 125 you'll be limited to a 125. Just go the test on an A bike from the training centre and then you can pick and choose which you go and buy wihout having to worry if it can be limited down or not. Get the theory and MOD tests booked otherwise you'll have to redo your CBT
  6. I remember when I took my MOD 2 back in July. I was warned to wear gloves that showed the protection. If the examiner caught you not wearing the correct gear including gloves you'd get a fail. Thanksfully I had all the correct gear but he did double check my boots.
  7. Get your backside into J&S in Maidstone. The guys in there will look after you properly, not selling anything that isn't right for the job. They'll work to your budget and the aftersales is top notch too.
  8. Well done Connor, buy that lad a beer or two. Pragmassis are having their annual sale at the moment. Time to get a proper chain
  9. 49 please.... gotta have something to aim at achieving this year
  10. OK, so on this side of servicing I'm a complete novice. I know what the manual tells me, but with my being a 2017 and unknown service history other than dealer stamps in a booklet, would it be worth having someone way more knowledgable than myself checking it over and maybe giving the fronts at least an oil change?
  11. No real pictures, but I passed my full license and bought a bike I already want to change
  12. Which is why I don't have an alexa or any other annoying listening bugs
  13. not the bike so much, but the boots needed a proper clean, polish and leather wax applied. It's just soaking in before the final buff off
  14. @Pie man I received a cheaper quote on a Tracer 900 over my Tracer 700. The only reason I went for the 700 was down to not liking the mapping on th 900.
  15. I thought you had to ride for 2 years on an A2 to qualify for the auto upgrade to full A license. I'd say look at an MT07. Plenty of fun, light, flickered and plenty of them around in that price range
  16. Well as it dried up just before lunch I decided I'll head out for a couple of hours. Traffic wasn't too bad, only had to clean and oil the chain when I got back.
  17. If it dries up any I'll be going for a ride, first in a couple of weeks.
  18. open the vents on the helmet I find helps
  19. Have to say the best was the selection of chocolates, with the worst being a box of Mike n Ike's. When asked what I wanted I told everyone the same.... nowt. Spend it on others, as I pretty much have all I need
  20. Currently in a real D3ep.com mood for nice flowy bouncy beats, most likely not many here will enjoy it
  21. We're just doing our bit for care in the community
  22. No bonus, the team I'm currently seconded to collectivily decided to give our meal allowance to charity. On the plus side my secondment comes to an end on the 6th Jan, which has already been hinted with a wink that I'll be moving into the team full time, which is a nice step up in quality of work and a change of T&C's in my favour
  23. Most major cities are now a nightmare of yes/no for bus lanes.
  24. Pay via contactless card and it rounds up all the trips to a max of a daily travel card. This goes across ALL forms of public covid catching transport
  25. Some boroughs are better than others, but ping up an area and I'll have a go for you.
