1. Some days I can come to a complete stop before putting my feet down.....Other days I've got my feet trailing at 5-10mpg to keep my balance......A lot depends on the road surface and camber too. I find that keeping the rev's low and just holding the clutch on the biting point and feathering the rear brake works for me in slow traffic (when I can't filter)......
2. I think that fastbob has mentioned all the usual common causes.......I'd definitely be checking for holes in the header pipe or leaks around where it goes into the cylinder head.....This can cause a ticking noise and running issues. ......and, given that you say that the maintenance hasn't been great, the header can rot through.....
3. sod the expense.. need a new bag? then you need a new helmet so you get a bag 'free'. No......just should have bought the right (Bell) lid in the first place.... Anyway.....you can never have too much bike gear......no.....take that back......I'll be posting up some of my vast collection for sale soon....
4. I think that everyone who was involved in this incident should come forwards and pay for the repairs.....utterly disgraceful behaviour. .... Anyway.....This is all
5. Also make sure that the rear caliper still floats ok......This often gets neglected .....The rear caliper on my cb750 was completely seized.....I had to buy a replacement as I couldn't unseize it.....
6. Buy a Bell lid.....you'll get a nice drawstring bag and a holdall type bag too.....
7. Behave.....
8. No chance of a robot doing my job......unless they invent one that can service, install and repair medical analysers, whilst also being an agony aunt and company PR spokesperson at the same time.....

12. Ah....see....I remember the summer of '76.......didn't wash the bike for 2 months......headlamp had a solid layer of dead bugs over it......
13. Stripped the forks on my old Trophy 900 a few years back with no fancy tools at all.......I think the socket is to stop the damper rod from turning while you undo the Allen bolt in the bottom of the slider......Both mine came undone without the need for the tool.....and I got them tightened back up without it too.......and the Trophy was still running around with no issues several years later. The hardest part of replacing the fork seals was getting the old ones out......
14. Darby & Joan club?..... Sorry, my younger sister lives in Eastbourne and I'm constantly taking the p*ss out of her and my brother-in-law about living there.....

R1 left indicator

Sounds very much like a faulty switch.....you could take it apart and try cleaning the contacts....replacing the switch gear is normally pretry straightforward......
16. Washing your textiles?......how quaint. .....
17. Fuses age......heat and vibration can cause the fuse wire to fracture.....I wouldn't be too worried about an 18 year old fuse blowing......but if the new fuse blows, then you will need to investigate. .....
18. Clutch slip or drag can be a problem on these bikes.......but replacing the clutch plates is a doddle......
19. Happy belated birthday Stu .........I see you got a nice new shiny kitchen for your birthday.....
20. I'll have a look in the garage at the weekend and see what I've got and let you know. Which plastics are you after? Airbox side panels or seat plastics?
21. Mine was bought as a project, mate.......It was a bit of a nail, so I didn't have any qualms about chopping it about a bit. I don't think there's any bits that I'm not using that are any good.......and I've had to buy various bits to replace ones that were unserviceable. .....and I've found that a lot of people want top dollar for parts from broken bikes......fortunately I found that early Triumph Street Triple's use the same front calipers, so I got a pair of decent ones for less than a single grotty f2n caliper......
