Close call!

When I worked nights at a petrol station I used to let police come in and would make them a brew, they appreciated it and it caused much needed entertainment when the resident stoners would come round for their rizlas and shit themselves seeing coppers in the shop I had a few different things involving police that happened to me there and I always got along with them fine, I even had to go to court as a witness to a police assault that happened on the forecourt One of my favourite funny moments with police happened one night after I had just refused some cigs to a clearly too young teen, a car pulled up at the pump and out stepped a local officer who had finished her shift and was filling up before going home. The teen approached her and (from what she told me afterwards) offered her a quid to buy him some cigs, She pissed herself laughing as she got her I.D. Lanyard out to show him. He made off pretty sharpish
6. If I lived closer I'd be making a counter offer of £501
7. You can usually find Bike engines for sale on eBay. The questions you need to ask is are you willing to spend £hundreds on the bike and are you mechanically able to do the work required? After having a quick look the cost of a new engine for that bike is around £500. You can pick up used ones for less obviously but they will need some tlc to get running. I'd be more inclined to fix the current engine. You said on another post that a mechanic told you some parts were missing. I would either find out from him what's missing or invest in the bikes service manual and do some reading up.

11. fastbob Possibly it had one originally and was replaced with a non-vacuum one . Would explain why its capped off
12. Just found this picture on google of your make of bike
13. Same here, How many hoses are connected to the petcock? that looks to me like there should be one going from the part Richzx6r has highlighted to the petcock
14. Before playing about anymore it might be worth just checking to see if fuel can actually flow out of the tank and into the carb. If you find it reaches the carb then pull the carb and clean the bowls, floats, jets etc (take pictures!) If fuel isnt reaching the carb then it could be a blocked fuel filter or petcock issues. I'd be pulling the hoses and seeing if fuel actually flows from the petcock by sucking on vacuum hose while pointing fuel hose in a safe place
15. Crankcase breather perhaps or similar?
16. It should look a lot like that as its a picture of one from a pulsar 125 I saw on eBay
17. look like this
18. Have a look at the air intake to make sure its not blocked in some way. In fact while you are there spray a bit of wd40 inside the intake while trying to start it (works like easy start but safer for engine) just to see if that helps. If it starts from doing that it could well be a fuelling issue (as Richzx6r said, are the plugs wet? if not then it definitely sounds like a fuelling problem)

Rookie

Without knowing your competence at mechanical things I'm hesitant to mention things to do! Cleaning, Adjusting & lubing the chain is usually a good starting point. As mentioned see if you can get the haynes book or try searching online for the service manual in pdf form. Youtube is very useful as well.
