  6. My boss lost 3 grand and his daughter lost 1000 investing in a "guaranteed" next big thing in cryptocurrency a couple of years ago. A family member talked big about it to them and how he had trebled his money in it. I do wonder if he just scammed them and kept the money

  8. Had a look on bank statements and I last put fuel (E10) in the car on 7th October. £37 A month later & Dashboard says I still have 175 miles worth left, I think I'll cope with any reduced mileage E10 provides

    Entertain me

I used to work around the corner from that hotel, Bet it was impressive when it was first built. Lots of the buildings around there have lovely architecture. Pity most of the area is falling apart

  19. Also I find it really annoying (though I'm sure there is some safety reason why) that on my old tumble dryer (and others of same age) you could reset the thermal switch via a push button at the back of the tumbler. On the newer ones I've had to fix ( all of two!) the switch is inside so you have to take machine apart, locate the part and then use a small screwdriver or similar to prod around and reset it.
  20. A few years ago I was called out to my eldest daughters house to fix her tumble dryer ( it was just the thermal cut out so nice and simple) While taking it apart I said to her it looks pretty new, how long have you had it. She said " you bought it for me last September " "Did ?!!!!! " That was an interesting conversation with the Wife when I got back home

    Vets bills

Just to lighten the tone..... When I worked at a Jewellers the saturday girl told me how when she was 15 she found her guinea pig dead in his hut. She was distraught and put him in her bag and got on the bus to take him to the vets hoping they could resuscitate him. The Vet: "Sorry, he is dead, there is nothing we can do now" two days later her mum got an £85 bill from the vets for their diagnoses
  23. @S-Westerly Sounds a similar situation to an old American Wrestlers Biography I read once. he said something like " People think it's amazing how I have travelled the world and must have seen and experienced so much culture. If by culture you mean getting off at the airport, going straight to the arena, wrestling for 20 minutes before finding a cheap hotel then going straight back to the airport the next day then i guess I have"
