Mississippi Bullfrog Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Tempted to ride to Wales to wind up the police as I don’t come from a restricted area. I don't think that makes any difference in some areas, some parts have been closed for a while. The headlight went on our daughter's car which is an older Toyota Aygo so unless you have tiny hands you can't get at it. She tried going to the local Halfords to get them to fit a new bulb but the police had a roadblock stopping people going anywhere outside of their area. She ended up driving miles in opposite direction to the next nearest Halfords which technically within their area but miles further away. You won't get any sense out of them. Quote

Guest Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Well if it all goes according to plan I'll be doing a ride report the likes of which has never been seen before on this forum. Or any other for that matter! It will take Dark Motorcycling to levels that nobody could ever have imagined!Really speaking, this will be something that should be premiered on the Discovery Channel! Not a place like this which has degenerated into a hangout for losers and perverts! Quote

rennie Posted October 24, 2020 Author Posted October 24, 2020 very grey damp and windy here today!I wouldn't be biking anyway. We're going for lunch at a canalside Pub while we still can Meeting my Son to discuss what they're going to do about their wedding in February Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 very grey damp and windy here today!I wouldn't be biking anyway. We're going for lunch at a canalside Pub while we still can Meeting my Son to discuss what they're going to do about their wedding in February That's a difficult conversation. All but one of our 2020 weddings moved to 2021. Several of them are already moving again to 2022. The one that did go ahead this year kept it really simple and it actually turned out to be a really happy relaxed occasion, but having both our daughters having weddings over the past few years I can imagine how difficult it is to have to rethink all those preparations. rennie Posted October 24, 2020 Author Posted October 24, 2020 They've booked and paid for the whole shindig at a venue, they're still going ahead I think, the venue have been helpful. They now have to cut numbers from 100+ down to 15.I'm not looking forward to this conversation Quote

Our policy is a 100% refund for whatever reason if the wedding can't proceed. In fact we don't ask for any payment until just before the day anyway so they haven't paid anything upfront. I'm glad the venue have been good about it but it's still a hard conversation when you have to reduce the number of family and friends who can attend. I'm offering couples a second ceremony later on when they can invite everyone who they wanted to attend - no charge for it. It just means they can have their wedding and then have a day to do it again with everyone they wanted to be with them.Best of luck with it. Quote
Fish Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 I'm waiting to see if I can get any motivation to actually go and do something. Sitting in my chair and can't be arsed to do anything. Weathers just turned to crap, so going for a ride is out as I don't fancy getting wet crotch syndrome. Yeah I know I need to get some waterproof over trousers or some waterproof textiles (if such a thing exists) Fish Quote

James in Brum Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 I took the plunge and have ordered the sound recording equipment I have been hankering after. I want to create some audio content around mental health, some as training, some to go over powerpoints, some as podcasts. Going to have a go at getting it going. I’m going to need a websit which puts me off. Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Don't forget the clocks go back tonight Oh great, we get to live an extra hour of 2020. Whoopee.I remember running an all night event for kids and getting to about 4.00am which is about the worst time - when someone reminded me that the clocks had gone back and it was actually only 3.00am. Twas not a good moment. Quote
