fastbob Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I've got Daytona Roadstars and they are brilliant . Retail price is around £350 but I got mine for £80 off Gumtree as " Worn once " still in the box . Quote
Snod Blatter Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I had some TCX boots, super comfy and warm and waterproof for about 3 years. I now have some Daytonas (worn for 500 miles, £50) and I don't find them as comfy or as warm but again they are waterproof and I don't doubt the superior build quality for a moment, they feel like they'll last forever. My TCXs didn't squeak either, in fact it was like walking around in normal shoes.. The Daytonas are very "clompy" by comparison. Quote
raesewell Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Not Gore-Tex but definitely waterproof.https://www.altberg.co.uk/boots/c/motorcycle-boots16 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I made the most of the sales yesterday and ordered:https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/72875With the Extra 10% discount got a pair of TCX Goretex boots for £103.49Looking forward to trying them out when they arrive. I spent about 2 hours in J&S this afternoon trying on boots. The criteria was they need to be waterproof and comfortable. Lots of nice boots but most fell short when it came to comfort either in terms of wearing them or getting them on/off. Zips that jam also put me off some big name boots. In the end it was down to Daytonas at £400 or these TCX for £100. The Daytonas were very nice but nowhere near four times more comfortable. I'm sure they would last longer but bang for your buck had it and I came home with the TCX XFives Gore Tex. Quote
fullscreenaging Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 I bought these a couple of years back and they are almost slipper comfortable. Very easy to get on and off with only 3 adjustable clips. Very warm in the cold times I’ve used them. Ridden in -2 indicated on the bike while moving a couple of times and with a thicker pair of ‘thinsulate’ socks on my feet stayed warm. Goes without saying they have not let in a drop of water in the times I’ve been caught out. I’ve owned the TCX Speed master Gortex and they were very comfortable too, but I sold them in the end on eBay as I just couldn’t bear the squeaking any longer. As bad as the SIDI squeak!Best boots I’ve owned up to date. I think they are going to last at least another 4 years as they still look almost new. Partly helped by the trouser leg going on the outside. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/363590 Quote

JackieOWheels Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I've had the Dr Marten's Garrick motorcycle boots for exactly a year now and they are bloody brilliant for my daily commute. The best way to describe them is like wearing really comfortable wellies but it's not wellies, them being slip resistant on the soles also helps on those really wet/cold Winter days. I really wish Dr. Martens made a new iteration to this boot as the original one came out so long ago and it's increasingly difficult to buy a replacement when the ones I have now are worn that I need a new pair. I brought my size (UK 9) in HelmetCity but it's only got size 11's left in stock now. https://www.helmetcity.co.uk/dr-martens-garrick-wp-boots-black-sale/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzvL16snZ5wIVSLTtCh1Z6QN-EAQYASABEgLGk_D_BwE Quote

They stayed waterproof no matter how long or hard it rained. I replaced them with these;https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/dainese-solarys-goretex-boots-black/26642.htmOK, £8 over budget, but more comfortable than the IXS. That may just be the shape of my feet and calf, but worth a try. They have also remained bone dry. Quote
