Tiggie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I've got 3 days off now Getting a whole new frying range and counter fitted, just spent a couple of hours this evening after closing ripping all the old counter out with the boss. We figure get as much prep done as possible so the fitters have no excuses about getting it done on time I feel bad for boss though as he's going back in at 5am to start removing the door and frame along with an entire window and framework section so the old range can be moved out and new one put in. I didnt volunteer to help with that though 1 Quote

learningtofly Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Looks like a cold one today. That said, if the sun continues to poke its nose out I'll be popping out for a bimble. Ooops, sorry - a ride at genteel speeds within my locality. 2 Quote

Looked a nice afternoon once the sun got going. Cheers Ian 1 Quote

Cheers Ian Changed my plans in the end, Ian. Rode out to Chobham instead via Watford, Denham, Datchet and Windsor. It's a lovely run and there's a great little Turkish restaurant we end up at when we do that run which was open for takeway (and they have a forecourt to make eating it a bit easier). The weather was indeed fantastic, though. 1 Quote
Tiggie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Update on shop is that my boss is currently extremely pissed off!! Still waiting on them to turn up, meant to be at shop 7am at absolute latest. He has been there since 5am and had the shop front out waiting. If the shop isn't able to open by Wednesday night as agreed upon then even I don't want to face him Quote

Tiggie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I think I might have worded it wrong. I'm not worried about him being pissed off with me, I just understand he's not going to be in the best of moods as I know I wouldn't be!! Quote
rennie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Good Afternoon Can't sleep! got toothache! Quote

Yes I got what you meant, I think most people would be the same as your boss it’s his livelihood after all, and not that he will take it out on the staff just grumpy with the situation. Quote

rennie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I had to scrape ice off my car to come home this morning! Quote
Tiggie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 @Slowlycatchymonkey A stressy time might be best way to describe it They have quoted us 3 days to do the work. My boss got them down to 2 1/2 if we did most of the prep work (removing old counters, doors etc) We wanted them to fit it Sun/Mon/Tues as it would be the least impact on shop but they won't work weekends so it became Mon/Tue/Wed and they agreed to come in for 7am today to make sure it all got completed in time for opening Wed night. Still hadn't shown by 9:30 I haven't heard from boss since then so I'm hoping its because they have shown up Quote
husoi Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) Your boss would have been the first ever to get builders to complete a job in time. Edited November 23, 2020 by husoi 1 Quote
