Never heard anyone call Halesworth "funky town" before now, but I've a feeling the name will stick. All well ta, @Mr Fro. Off for a quick trip to Folkestone today to see some cousins. How 'bout you? 1 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I'm glad I drive a wreck. We've just taken granddaughter no. 2 for a mooch in the local Tescos and some kind soul has plough into the rear bumper and taken a hefty gouge out of it. They've disappeared without trace of course. My wife's only comment was....good job we didn't come in her car. 5 Quote

I crossed over to the dark side and bought an old BMW tourer a couple of years ago which is working out quite nicely. So much so that I don't use the sporty ones any more, hence the Ninja is up for sale. The turbo will probably be going after that - once I get it dialled in of course! Have I missed anything exciting? Has Dynax got a proper bike yet? 11 hours ago, bonio said: Never heard anyone call Halesworth "funky town" before now, but I've a feeling the name will stick. Her uncle also says he enjoys pissing you all off by driving his tractor down the lanes at 3 mph. I'm sorry you have to go to Folkestone. Still, it could be worse, it could have been Ashford. Are you still messing about with boats @Grumpy Old Git? 1 Quote

Nah not missed much to be fair! no @dynax is still a chicken 2 Quote

Nah not missed much to be fair! no @dynax is still a chicken I've got the R1100RT and am really pleased with it. The previous owner was a retired MOT inspector who apparently knew loads about bikes... It took me a while to fix all his cock-ups and bodges! What oil do you use? I was considering using a 10w40 for the next change rather than 20w50 as it's easier to get hold of (and cheaper). Quote

I use 5w40 which is the recommended oil for the wet head The 20w50 was recommended due to yours been air cooled as 10w40 couldn't hack the heat apparently! Quote

Maybe I'll take a punt on it unless I can find some 20w50 locally and at a reasonable price. One last question - do you use car oil? Quote

One last question - do you use car oil? Not currently as I can't find one suitable Although you don't have to worry about that with it been a dry clutch Why not look at Smith and Allen oils? You can get 25 litres for a very reasonable price Quote

I bought 25 ltrs of ATF for my Beta and then sold the bike, I'm still dancing around the bloody container near the bench Edited July 28, 2024 by Yorky Typo Quote
