I used to have one when I was around 15 or so. I apologise now for anyone who kept getting wound up by an annoying kid approx 25 years ago!!

Analogue, as Bender said, you can buy digital ones but you need to be licensed, I use one when I'm Paragliding.  There's different types of digital radio as well, making it even more confusing, such as TETRA.

Sex sells 😁

As recall and it was some time ago. It was back when even as mech eng student. It was possible to send an email from anyone to any one..

I also knew how to log in remotely through a university web server in Brazil that did not monitor links clicked in emails. Some links where total unknowns and not acceptable,

I think it was more that having internet knowledge hacking porn became a hobby, So the tech developed.

Now I am confused by a forum update 🤨

Yup, I was around at the dawn of civilization, dial in bb, I was proficient with telnet, built God knows how many pc's, now I'm confused if it doesn't start up 😂

In 1978 ish we acquired a police radio it came in the boot of a car dad bought, it was a bit quiet round ours and neither me or my brother had the bottle to transmit anything.

I remember when I was a kid listening to the Police on a scanner, you could only hear one side of the conversation as I recall ..... TETRA is the big thing now, down side is it supposedly fries your brain! :classic_wacko:

We had a very illegal lafayete with usb lsb ssb and a few more in between, now and then you could get ham radio with skipping, was way more exciting talking very briefly to folk in another country than the bellends in the next village.

We used to use CB when off roading in 4x4's

A mate is a bit of a geek and had all sort of gear! he would often talk to people in other countries!
