skyrider Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 right here's one for all you technophobes are the present cb's digital or analogue, i was just wondering if they had switched over to digital seeing as all other radios have, taxi, ambulance , police etc Quote
Bender Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 You can buy digital 2 way radios but I think they need a licence, cb has stuck with old fashionedness for backwards compatibility. Quote
Tiggie Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I used to have one when I was around 15 or so. I apologise now for anyone who kept getting wound up by an annoying kid approx 25 years ago!! 1 Quote
manxie49 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) Analogue, as Bender said, you can buy digital ones but you need to be licensed, I use one when I'm Paragliding. There's different types of digital radio as well, making it even more confusing, such as TETRA. Edited November 23, 2020 by manxie49 Submitted before finishing Quote
skyrider Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 when i was marshalling we used tetra radios Quote

Bender Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 That's the thing with digital, it's easy to secure, nothing is impossible to scan just depends who wants it and how bad 1 Quote

It was possible to send an email from anyone to any one.. I also knew how to log in remotely through a university web server in Brazil that did not monitor links clicked in emails. Some links where total unknowns and not acceptable, I think it was more that having internet knowledge hacking porn became a hobby, So the tech developed. Now I am confused by a forum update 2 Quote
