I’d forgotten how good your bike (that you sold) looks :-)

I do like the now older style of the mid nineties to mid naughties.

I would just wash it where it is! I have never known anyone get a telling off from the plod for washing a car or bike in the street

Well, that's also an option. I have never washed motorcycle/car on the street so absolutely have no idea what would be neighbors' and other people's reaction. Maybe they wouldn't mind. It's possible that I'm worrying too much.

Have a look what council garages are nearby, as it's been said you will need a lockup. Get in the list with wolvo council I'm in Dudley they told me a 2yr wait I managed to get a garage right next door to my house in 6 months which was lucky

Idk how check what council garages are nearby. When I try, I just get an apply form for garage. However in this form they ask to choose an area where I'd like that garage to be. And none of their suggested areas are alright for me. I also was checking all the rest garages for rent and couldn't find anything near my home.

Sorry, for repeating myself. I'm new and don't know how everything works here. And also I couldn't find how I to delete those double posts.

It is easier to seek forgiveness than it is permission, just do it and say you didn't know if you get grief over it :thumb:

You're only likely to get problems if you're making a noise or leaving a mess. If you keep things sensible I doubt anyone would raise an issue.

Maybe see if there is anyone local who has some u used private space you can rent. I love in Dudley just down the road from you and you will need to make sure the bike is secure vehicle crime is not great in our areas

Ive never known anyone to worry about washing their car in the street. Ive done it most places Ive lived and done car repairs too.

Worst case scenario is someone from the council would say you can't. the police wont care unless covering other cars in soap or snowfoam. As said, leaving a mess never goes down well. But basic soapy wash should rinse away. Snow faom would stay for ages and draw attention. Is that your main worry before buying a bike? Most worry about insurance groups, style to buy etc. Good luck

Don't ask me why this looks like you wrote it , I can't get on with this new format either . Anyway , if there aren't any Boy Scouts in your area who are willing to give your bike a scrub as part of " Bob a Job " week , why not offer some local ladies a couple of bottles of Prosecco and ten fags to do the job . Either way , you can always plead that they talked you into it if the soapy suds police are on the prowl .

That's a nice idea, but the reality is usually a bit different.

... I know that cleaning cars like that is definitely not legal.

So what place should I choose for cleaning motorcycle?

As a retired cop, I am unaware of any such law and in all my years in the job was never called to a complaint about someone washing a car or bike in a public place. I presently live where none of the houses have a drive and there is a communal car park and lots of car washing and repair work goes on without any issues.

I'm beginning to think this whole bloody thread is a wind up to be honest .

The fella down our road where we used to live got done for working on cars in the street. But he was taking the piss and running a business from his house. From memory they did him for obstruction.

But the OP is not referring to public highway. Land used for residential parking can be subject to covenants restricting unwanted activities. But as said, I think you'd have to acting daft to create any kind of issue.

Idk, probably I was worrying about it too much. Sorry about all the fuss I've made here.

However, washing is not the only thing I'm worrying about. For example, I'm not sure where I'm gonna keep it. But even if I create a thread "Where to keep a motorcycle?" what's then? You wouldn't be able to advice me much as it strongly depends on my living area. Of course, I could keep it on the street but that's not safe. There are no garages for rent around my home. There is some self storage but it's also far away.

Keep it in the living room .
