Finally decided to live the dream once more but I need some practice riding a bike again. I wondered whether anyone can help

I believe all I need is an hour in a car park.

Thanks for reading

An hour in a car park doing what exactly ? A little more information would be most helpful . For example , I'm assuming that you have a bike so how are you going to get there ? And where do you live ?

There are probably training schools who can provide some sort of “return to riding” facility / tuition... Phone around your local dealers/instructors and see what’s available.

Assuming you have a full licence just get a bike and ride, it won't take too long before you remember how to ride like you used to :thumb:

Depending on how long you've been off, my old boss had a long long layoff from riding, and even though he had ridden "bigger" bikes in his youth he said the "smaller" bike he returned to had a lot more performance and took a bit of getting used to.

If you're returning I think a back to biking course would be a small investment in the grand scheme of things. Added bonus, you could use a school bike for that wobbly phase that you're getting back into it.

@Stu will meet you in a car park, it will have to be after dark though .... you can bring a friend , the more the merrier, dress up is fine to and there will be plenty of riding , roughshot :thumb:

I'm thinking along the same lines as Six ( Without the unfiltered deviancy ) If someone is seriously expecting one of us to meet them in a deserted car park in an undisclosed location so that they can have a go on one of our bikes , they might be underestimating our intelligence . No response from the OP as usual .

Ah well, bad idea to ask. Thanks for the posts..lesson learned

I can understand the thought, if your thinking of doing a refresher.

All on here or in local FB groups you might get some recommendations for decent instructors for an hour or two.

Well if you had been a lot more specific about exactly what you wanted from this meeting you might have received a more helpful response . I wish you every success with your return to biking and on behalf of the forum I extend the hand of fellowship . Just be aware that sarcastic and less than appropriate banter is generally accepted as polite conversation in motorcycling circles and that no offence was intended .

Are you sure you're not confusing me with Extreme ?  I have been known to be a bit direct especially when someone's first post is asking how to start a bike without keys but I don't think I've been too unwelcoming .

Positively warm and cuddly !

I think the OP and @Six30 are probably in a car park waiting for the cover of darkness as we type lol.

At least he didn`t ask why his Chinese 125 was falling apart/not starting (delete where applicable etc ) sorry @dynax but it`s usually true.

If we are wrong and he turns out to be totally genuine I am sure @Stu will despatch @Tiggie to slap our legs :classic_biggrin:

Cheers

Doubt anyone would confuse you with XTreme bob, I think you summed it up spot on.

Where is Xtreme? I've not seen him on the forum for a while now. Hopefully he's OK.

Took a strop and flounced.
