Mickly Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I did Bugger all with my bike(s) Started off with a lazy morning then mowing the lawn, thinking that an afternoon bimble was in order, followed by painting 12 fence panels, setting up the water feature for the new season & rubbing down & painting the garden furniture, all well and good except that by the time I had finished ( about 16:00 ) and I thought about going out Mrs Mickly had cunningly fed me a few very welcome refreshing ice cold lagers to help me cool down during my endeavours & now I’m not able to ride I’m sure she planned it as rather than going out for a razz I’m cooking dinner ! 4 4 Quote

Bungleaio Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Went to Giants causeway today, great 180 mile round trip. Now having a beer and watching Netflix with it in the background (photo taken upside down) 5 Quote
Simon Davey Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) I went out for a couple of hours, but it was shortened to less than 20 minutes. All I did was change the oil..... Errrrmmm, I'd also left the fuel tap on for a week, and it now runs at low rev's like it's only firing on two bloody cylinders , then it konks out. However, it still managed to scream up to a ton when I cranked it open. Gonna have to strip those carb's. Edited June 2, 2024 by Simon Davey 1 Quote

Are you going to be forced to have pizza ? 1 Quote
bonio Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Thats what I thought! Yes. Pizza. Sigh. But oday we raided Aldi and came back with wraps, salad and wine. Had a very enjoyable but totally knackering ride too. Just 140 miles. Every mile was 100% concentration or else come off. So we opted to concentrate. Top pic is our lunch stop. Bottom is the geyser at wallendorf 8 Quote
bonio Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Today was puncture day.And then a trip to Bernkastel and Piesport. Can't put the Bernkastel pic in because Steve looks a bit 'special', so here's Piesport instead. 3 2 Quote
Gerontious Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 I should have copyrighted my trips. I feel like I’ve been plagiarised. Copied. Aped. Cut to the quick I am. Cut. 1 3 Quote

bonio Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Anyway, not completely plagiarised, as we had to get a new tyre today, which is a first. Becker of Bitburg had exactly the one we were after. What are the chances of that? All fitted by just after 11. One of the elderly gentlefolk who props up the bar in the evenings, tabbing for Germany, asked me throigh the cigarette fog if everything was OK. Sure, I said, we had a puncture this morning but this morning we got a new tyre. Yes, he said, from Becker of Bitburg. Great place, and they do good prices: other places will see a foreigner coming and charge accordingly. I think we must be the main show in town this week. 4 1 Quote

Don't see so many now, but the fens seem to suit them What a treat! The only little owl I've ever seen, was in Greece. Quote

Thank goodness you were forward thinking, and you're still in one piece. 2 Quote

Squires Cafe (east of Leeds) -> Berwick upon Tweed -> Edinburgh -> Wick -> Fort William -> Bolton -> Squires. Left at 5.00am got back just before 1.00am. Got rained on (a lot, some with hail in it) and saw temperatures as low as 5c at near enough midday. Sore back, sore shoulders, sore arse, but last year we raised over £30k for the British Legion so well worth it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2136600153073601 https://www.rblr1000.co.uk/ 5 Quote

husoi Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Gave up trying to invent the wheel. Stopped messing around, took the 2 pan's wheels to a garage and in 10 min they fitted the internal TMPS, balanced the wheels and got it ready tom go on the bike. Total cost, 20 quid This after spending 3hrs to get one side of the rear tyre off the bead on the rim. Some works are better done by those who know how.ro and have the pepper tools Next time, fit them on the shadow 3 Quote
Tinkicker Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 (edited) Long awaited week off work this week. Really looking forward to getting the VFR out and putting a few miles on her in the warm sunshine. Could not wait for last week to end. The grim reality. Wind, rain, cloud and cold. To cap it off, the missus started with a cough, sore throat and joint aches on Saturday. I started on Monday.... Great holiday. Have I mentioned how lucky I am? Edited June 11, 2024 by Tinkicker 1 3 Quote
S-Westerly Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Rode to Aberystwyth via Hereford and Rhayader. Good ride over especially on the A44. Wished to god I'd worn my winter gear though as I was bloody freezing! 11 C in June FFS. Came back by way of Carmarthen which was a mistake as there were loads of villages which of course are all 20 mph. Couple of sneaky speed traps as well ( which I avoided). Some cheap petrol though £1.399 which wasn't bad. 5 Quote
