1. Okay, thanks for dropping by.
2. This is probably one of the funniest things I've read on line. Do you know a guy who goes by the handle "Painkiller"? Maybe "ftw", "jjquelch", or even "Petrolhead"?
3. That's not how it works! The position of the piston in the cycle has nothing to do with the efficiency of the system. All you're proving with the calculation you keep wheeling out is the surface speed of something which is pretty much meaningless. Have you calculated the torque that would be generated in your system? Do you know what the friction would be? Can the torque overcome the friction? etc, etc... Besides which, you're trying to claim that your thing is 20 times more efficient than reciprocating engines which are generally 20% - 40% efficient. Therefore the maximum you could possibly attain is 5 times improvement. That's before heat loss, intake & exhaust losses, friction, blah, blah. That's a very impressive figure if attainable but you need to do the calculations to prove what you're saying before anyone will take you seriously.
4. That's why you need to do the calcs! They're not difficult - pick up any thermodynamics book and you'll have all the info you need to do them.
5. An insurance company will use anything to get out of paying and you have no way of proving when you were going to put them back on. They would first have to prove that removing them caused the accident Maybe they flew off in the accident.
6. Spoil sport.
7. Mate, you're slating someone else for building a prototype to show what it can do yet your design is so fantastically simple that it doesn't need any sort of explanation, let alone a working model. At least they provide some information to say what it's doing. You really need a technical document to describe how your device works. Have you done the calculations? You say it'll do 600 odd mph... How? It's a pointless statement without quantification. How do you know it'll do 10k rpm? Can you show that's possible?
8. I had a CB13 when they came out and still have a soft spot for big naked bikes. I've eyed up the GSX14 a squillion times but haven't quite got round to riding one so it's interesting to hear your view. I think if I ever get round to selling the turbo bike I'll definitely take a spin on one.
9. Have you got a technical paper?
10. Are you finally going to paint the floor blue in there then?
11. If I buy something without MOT I expect it to be ridiculously cheap. I insured the wife's car last week with admiral (I think). I did it on-line and it was £18 for the week or £22 for the month.
12. That's the way with Facebook in my experience. Had the wife's car on there for months. It was cheap and excellent condition. Plenty of people would message asking if it was available and then nothing else. In the end, the first person to see it snapped it up - I don't think they could quite believe their luck.
13. Hobgoblin is quite good. No.1 favourite is Riggwelter. Saying that, I've got a few Nelsons in the fridge for BBQ time.
14. You can go down to Sandwich and see the apron (or whatever it's called), it's still there.
15. To me it looks like you're intending on igniting a charge in a vacuum behind the vanes. Is there a preceeding compressor stage? I'm also not seeing the point of the exhaust valve - it just seems like a restriction to me which will hurt efficiency. There's a few other bits and bobs- it would be good to see a paper or technical document if you have it.
16. You used the packet? That's way to thick, you should have used the papers!

GUESS WHO'S BACK

Stu - what did you let her back in for? There's been enough of the established member leaving as it is. Are you trying to finish the place off or something?
18. Nice fix!

Another HH user here.
20. Hello mate. Sounds good, I look forward to seeing how it pans out! Whereabouts in Cambs are you?
21. I've found that the chain starts gripping the sprocket (which is noticable) before any serious handling issues arise anyway. I use the string method too which has worked well but is a faff. I like the look of the tool though.
22. All of bloody Yorkshire. Sod that, we need to flush Jaywick down the bog first.
23. That's normal.
24. Some sort of insemination tool?
25. Have you got a picture?
