  1. out of all the bike on your list, I would say the V Strom is the most over looked and under rated, a great bike, very capable and a bomb proof engine. Looks are subjective, I ride a KTM . I would otherwise chose the BMW R1200RS
  2. Well the rates for me, are shite. Company car user receives 13p per mile, essential car user 45p per mile first 10K only, cant make nowt on those prices, I have an option to ride my bike for work, but in reality who uses their bike for business and covers 20K a year, I have looked into using my bike, but after paying for insurance, fuel, tax, servicing, tyres, Kit etc, it just isn't worth it.
  3. Just Ordered my Crit'Air Sticker You just never know, and for only £3.98. why not.

    Howdy
  5. Isn't Gore-tex guaranteed to keep you dry, but should be washed by following the garments instructions, I usually run the washing machine on an empty hot wash first, then wash my gear. Have you thought of sending it back.
  6. Roads are that bad near me, the local test centre will have to introduce a new module on the learning curriculum. No more learning about vanishing point, more like, look for the bloody pot hole before it.
  7. @Ellyt247 I have both Go Pro and Drift camera's however, I use a Drift Ghost-X when I was commuting. You can change all settings via phone app. Loop record or record all on SD card, take still pictures etc. Battery life approx 5hrs at 1080/30fps. Play back on phone etc. Not cheap, but not in the same league as the Go Pro. I think the Drift X retail £130.
  8. Finally got the 600 mile service out of the way, Chester KTM & Harley Dealer, what a great place, free coffee and WIFI work station & a Butty van on the carpark.
  9. Hello Welcome to the forum. Glad you have found a bike that suits you & has that Honda reliability.
  10. I think it depends what you want to get from it. I like the BikeSafe course, class room work, answers direct from Plod, then the observed ride.
  11. Even the Austrian has a 10A Auxiliary socket. As well as the sat nav connection behind the headlight, it has another one under the rear seat and a waterproof money pouch or it could be phone holder
  12. Greater Manchester Police are offering £20 off their BikeSafe course if you book before 22/05/2023. If you're interested, use discount code GMP20. They don't usually discount as it is heavily subsidised as it is, but well worth a brew and a chat at the veterans café near AJ Bell Stadium.

  13. That's just for such an iconic adventure bike.
  14. You could use something similar to this, connects to the battery and the little blue pin connects to the switch live without cutting into the wiring. 6 Switched and 2 live. Plenty of cheap variants on the web.
  15. NC750 here too. Never ridden one mind, but by all accounts excellent all rounder
  16. Something similar near me, however there is a light on the left, white stop line then give way lines a few yards ahead, with is in mind, I would just give way at the junction, but stop at the lights at this one.
  17. I like to do the bikesafe course every couple of years, sort of brings me back in line and better to listen to their advice, from the horses mouth so to say, rather than a key board champion.
  18. Another 100 miles done, another 100 to go, then I can get the 1st service out of the way. I need to purchase one of those clip on windshield clip on thingy's before any tour

    Winter Storage

Don't do winter storage, Ride it, wash it & dry it, simples. Oh, but if you do, clean it, dry it and lather it in ACF50 or XCP and connect to Optimate
  20. Been for a ride over the 4 shire's this evening, Lancashire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire. Covered approx 100Miles. Sadly there was a motorcycle accident on the A54. I hope the rider is OK. Headed back over the Cat n Fiddle, great views of Jodrell Bank.
  21. I was there last Sunday. Not a bad café, not keen on J&S, I cant put my finger on it, but I thought a lot of the stock appeared meh.
  22. We have family coming over from Canada . They are staying with us for the week before heading off to somewhere in Europe . I will be delighted to see them however; its a weeks leave I really couldn't afford to take
  23. 18 stone 9lb to 16 Stone 11lb, its getting tough. Struggling to get to 16 Stone. I would like to hit the target before my Euro trip, but its bloody hard going. I'm thinking Dulcolax
  24. Three out of five phones went off. I don't believe for one minute this government is competent enough or have the resources to prepare emergency plans and deal with what/which emergencies.
