  1. I had a Peugeot 305 that boiled it’s battery in the middle of Stratford upon Avon on a bank holiday Monday - the regulator had gone t*ts up. Our current camper based on a Peugeot Partner decided to over heat on a summers day in Brighton - the cooling fan had 2 relays, one low speed & one high speed, trouble was that you didn’t find out that one had gone until the other one did & they were a b’stard to get to & had anti tamper fixings .. WTF??
  2. On the Speed Awareness course I went on they addressed this. From what I remember 3 years ago: The distance between the street lights or wether they are in use is no longer one of the considerations, basically you have at some point passed a big sign saying 30, there are no repeaters & there are street lights. Any protestations about what if …. Such as “I was staying somewhere for a week and forgot” were answered with the sensible advice of “stick at 30 until you can be sure it is otherwise” Seems the loophole lawyers have caused some of the loopholes to be closed.
  3. Do you know me ?

  6. Definitely big up to @Hoggs for all the work that must have gone into creating & running the whole thing

  8. Merry Christmas to you all, I hope you all have ( had ) a brilliant time & the new year brings all you hope for.
  9. As a small child we were holidaying in Criccieth North Wales & on a day trip to Caernarfon Castle, I piped up with “We must be nearly there, I just saw a sign for Caernarfon toilets” Mum & Dad Burst out laughing… the sign said ‘Caravans To Let’ went down in family folklore.
  10. 35 again please … must try harder … me that is !!
  11. Rinsed it, squirted it with Muc-Off washed it off, washed it with a wax based shampoo, polished bits of it with Autoglym resin polish, applied ACF50 to various parts, attached battery minder, covered it up and tucked it up for a while. 9yo granddaughter loved helping out, didn’t drop a cloth once and loved painting on the ACF50 with a small brush until she got some on her favourite T-shirt & I told her that it wouldn’t come out Here she is prior to the cleaning process.

    XMAS Presents

Me & Missus Mickly are the same, I usually get permission to spend my own money on a combined Birthday & Christmas present for myself with no ( well not many ) questions asked, so this year I got a crash helmet & Cardo Freecom 1+ while at the Bikeshow. In return I don’t question how much she spends on the Grandkids - works well.
  13. Nope, it makes it E7•5
  14. Bee interested in any spare Mead .. yum
  15. I achieve the same effect on the Speedtriple but rolling off the throttle a tiny fraction & then a clutchless up change is a doddle
  16. My fishing gear went the same way, when I asked for it back, she said I’d already taken it, I could have punched that sickly grin down her lying throat, a couple of months later my eldest son had stumbled across it and asked me why I hadn’t taken it, I took a deep breath & just said I’d forgotten - it was left in a big heap in the road next time I dropped the kids off, everything had been opened and mixed up & 2 rods broken in their cases, I said nothing but the kids clocked it.
  17. Enjoyed the show & got this … think visibility might be an issue

  19. I killed Bambi on the Military road between Coulport & Garelochhead, it hurdled the Armco straight in front of the car - made a right mess ( would have been horrendous on a bike ) kids in the back were hysterical, luckily it was dead & didn’t have to dispatch it, dragged it to the side of the road so no one else hit it & repaired the front of the car with Duct tape & string which lasted all the way back to Cov
  20. My worst was ear to home approaching a x roads at night, my right of way, van approaching from the left junction stopped & looked, saw me & thought he’d got time, which he would have ( just ) if he hadn’t been in the wrong gear or something, so he pulled out to cross & bogged down, I slammed on the brakes, locked the back wheel swerved & just managed to just miss the rear of the van, unfortunately went into the curb of the road to the left, over that and straight through a hedge separating from my GT500 into a field, the van f*cked off. managed to pick myself up ( a bit bruised & scratched ) & by some miracle the bike was ok (ish ) trouble was I couldn’t get it back through the hedge, so parked it against a locked gate & walked home, counting my lucky stars. Following day I managed to find the farmer who had the lock to the gate & was on my way.
