  1. Was once in A&E waiting for news of a mate who’d come off his bike in front of me ( he was mostly ok, just gravel rash & stitches ) when a guy came in with a very bloodied tea towel wrapped around his hand, I then realised that the bloodied transparent plastic bag his Mrs was carrying contained his fingers A blocked lawn mower incident apparently.
  2. Think that was because there was a ‘hole shot’ prize. Ie 1st to get to the end of the mile long straight. Dunno if they still have it coz the starts are managed with seeded riders at the front in order to thin out the field & avoid the carnage.
  3. I use a thick leather lifting belt, no so much for the support, more for the fact that it digs in & hurts if my posture is wrong, it restricts movement, which can be annoying at times, but having been laid up in bed a few times with a bad back I reckon the inconvenience is worth it.
  4. I’m gutted as well & drowning my sorrows... I predicted the score as 1-3, that’s a fiver down the drain.
  5. I spoke to a guy at Halfords who did the cycle maintenance about JIS screwdrivers, he said Halfords Pro were all he used on Shimano (Jap) gear sets & never had an issue. I used them on Mikuni carbs with no issues.
  6. They are things who’s primary function seems to be collecting rust welcome to the forum.
  7. Why take the wall paper off if the plasters coming off any way?

I’m with @Mississippi Bullfrog on this. Drink / drug driving is a black or white case supported by proven technology ( unless you can afford a very highly paid Barrister who can get you off on a procedural technicality ). Dangerous driving is an assessment by the officer and this has shown on many occasion to be open to interpretation, how many of these charges been downgraded to something lesser? Now, I know the following is coloured by my personal experiences with Police, but imagine the scenario where PC Piglet demands you bow to them, grovel and plead guilty to a lesser offence through fear of being banned for a year & the subsequent issues that might entail !!
  10. & Pork Scratchings ... yum yum
  11. We’ve got 2 kittens, now both 6 months old. The most inquisitive is this one, Zorro It’s the door to the cupboard under the stairs, he’d climbed up the coats hung on the other side.
  12. Oh dear, still, they knew what they were voting for. ”The EU has told British fishermen they are indefinitely banned from selling live mussels, oysters, clams, cockles and scallops to its member states. As the UK is now a separate country, it is not allowed to transport the animals to the EU unless they have already been treated in purification plants. But the industry says it does not have enough tanks ready and the process can slow exports, making them less viable. The government promised to continue to "raise the issue" with the EU.” “Raise the issue”
  13. Happy birthday @bonio May the merriment begin
  14. I’ve given blood 32 times, but can’t persuade any family members to do the same, not even try it once. Exceptions are sons, who would both like to but can’t. Eldest because he had plasma when he was little at the height of the CJD outbreak & youngest coz he’s gay.
  15. Yep, do the same for the Military & the Government.
  16. Ah, yes ... you’ve finally got the battery eliminator set up to work
  17. Ah yes, well, very ... umm tidy
  18. Seems like it. can’t wait to read the reasons why, could do with a laugh.
  19. As a Yoof (around 1980) I used to travel to Symonds Cider in Bromyard & buy large amounts of their cider in 5 gallon drums, decant and sell at a profit to mates, although I used to drink quite a bit of it so profits were low.Me & a mate were once left alone in the tasting room while an old gal very slowly walked to the main house for some change .... trouble was we’d forgotten that we’d driven there in a van, so had to wait several hours before daring to drive home. Sadly I think they have been brought up by some conglomerate, the Scrumpy Jack of today is nothing like the very tasty stuff of then.
  20. Here you go @rennie proper stuff at a good price: A proper hangover for £16 ( with Tesco’s clubcard )
  21. Not a joke these days.
  22. You got a side view?
  23. The reason is coz something changed in the relationship we have with the EU on the 1st January, can’t for the life of me think why Also it’s the UK legislation that’s causing this, not EU.
