  1. “Vibrant & challenging” an excellent description and absolutely spot on
  2. Decided to hone my urban riding skills by inadvertently riding through the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham this afternoon - lightening reactions, psychic levels of anticipation & the patience of a saint where required, but I survived .... Just !! @James in Brum you done this?
  3. Make sure you’ve got room to carry your catch home
  4. Dunstall Castle - not much left of it though Blenheim Nursery
  5. Shell - That’s all the petrol stations bagged plus treated the bike to a tank of V Power !!
  6. Do you have that deep fried or barbecued ?
  7. Well done, I remember the relief when I’d submitted mine
  8. SPetrol Stations Jet Texaco Sainsbury’s Apple Green: Surprising lack of branding Morrisons Asda Not just any BP garage, but an M&S BP garage Esso Tesco

  10. Bloke up the road used to have a van with a slightly dodgy plate using yellow screw caps to spell out his nickname BALLLY ( actually B8LUY - one day the yellow caps had gone & standard spacing employed - wonder if some one had a word?
  11. This was outside the Mermaid at Porth, Cornwall yesterday, it was warmer than it looks. Off to Perranporth today.
  12. “Handbook” ??? Bloody “Handbook” ?? hand back your Man card & hang your head in shame, bloody “Handbook” - pfft
  13. So far on my bike in the last 2 weeks I have managed to avoid: 1/ An SUV indicating left then veering right across both lanes to exit a roundabout. 2/ Car coming head on on temporary traffic lights against the red light ( Fukker just swerved round me after I braked & hit the gutter ) 3/ Van crossing in front of me against a red light 4/ Uber indicating left them doing a R U turn 5/ BMW car trying to undertake up to a LH lane closure & giving me abuse when they had to tuck in behind me - good luck to getting the molten rubber off your grille. I hope that’s it for the rest of the year, had more than my share of bell ends to contend with. As far as getting ready after a winter lay off? Couple of times rounds local roundabout to get rid of the chicken strips & get my knee down = good to go
  14. Used to drink in the Minstrel Boy in Cov, until it became inundated with Coke heads, which unfortunately seems to be the way of many pubs these days.
  15. Why a smart phone? Without any true points of reference It’s just supposition & bollox. why not an I.d card with a chip? Or fingerprint / retinal / rectal recognition? Or a physical passport or a National Insurance card? or a telepathic clairvoyant on every door? Despite taking the piss, I am quite uncomfortable about the point you make, this pandemic could be used as the thin end of a very large wedge towards totalitarian control & you won’t be able to protest about it!!
  16. I said, the OPPORTUNITY to have the jab, if someone decides not to have it, then no certificate & tough shit.
  17. The certificate system could only be fairly introduced once everybody has had the opportunity to have both jabs. It would be utterly unfair to introduce it while the younger population have not had the chance of a jab.
  18. Did the MoT go ok? & how loud were the testers pipes?
  19. Maybe ..... After a few months of rubbish weather & slippy roads the tyres can become squared off, when the weather improves and cornering angles increase the bike can fall suddenly off the squared off shoulder onto the side of the tyre, this can give a feeling of a rear slide & a reaction to this feeling such as tightening of the sphincter can induce a wobble. Also as the rolling radius of the rear tyre suddenly decreases it can cause a raising of rev’s adding to the illusion of a slide.
  20. These are good gear - I fitted some to my Speedtriple to help with cold fingers. They have also helped in fending off many wing mirrors & scrapes entering & exiting the garage, mine are definitely’used’ From what I remember they were £80 new, so £30 seems a fair price.
  21. Mickly

    Happy birthday

    Hope you had a good‘in
