Yes, assuming this is major to minor. For emerging from a junction you should ideally not leave any room for anything to sneak up the inside. I'd agree with your instructor. I'd change this to enter, signal, lifesafe right, turn I'd only life safe left if changing lane, but it also depends on the exact layout of the roundabout. The above would be my default starting point though. Just my opinion, but I hope it helps. Although it was a very long time ago, I was taught to always perform a lifesaver when turning left in case a cyclist or such like jumped off a curb to go through the junction.

The police have now been put into an impossible situation. It is wrong to approve the tactic and then charge someone with doing that very same tactic. If the charge related to a cop who had rammed a slow moped at 60 mph and then repeatedly driven over the youth, then I would understand a charge. But that did not happen. As Joe85 pointed out, the officer concerned had not been sufficiently trained / tested to go over 20mph above the speed limit, and over stepped the mark. All of us have to stick to rules in our working life and there can be dire consequences if we don’t, including the police. Don’t get me wrong. I have no sympathy for the skag involved, and the paltry size of the compensation is probably due to the officer acting outside of the law in the pursuit rather than the consequences of the actual stop. If the officer had been trained to perform this tactic then it wouldn’t have been an issue.

The absolute best (worst) was when mate #1 on a SS50 was in front, spotted fit bird ( attractive young lady ) he knew and slammed on his brakes, Mate #2 on AP50 failed the swerve test and ran into the back of mate #1, me on FS1E passed swerve test and just missed them both. Fit bird was unimpressed as mates #1 & #2 started kicking lumps out of each other as I tried to keep the peace: So I suppose the only ones to blame for your little off is the complete tits before you who road like twats and forced the Government to introduce such stringent tests. Maybe a rat bike is the way to go. A perfectly functioning bike - usually painted Matt black ( the whole bike including wheels etc ) with various additional adornments such as rats / dolls heads etc to make it as scary and unappealing as possible, with the added bonus of any skags being worried that the owner might be just as horrible.

Bet there’s an Itchybum video showing how it can be done with a tin opener and a small avacado !!
