  1. Hi there it all depends on how its been built and the quality of the parts and skill in the builder. Is it finished and on the road or is it in bits still. Has the bike got a registration document any receipts for parts or jobs done to the bike. Do you know what frame and engine was used in the triton build as some are worth more than others. If you are not into bikes you could try classic bike dealers/builders for advice they may be interested. If so send lots of pictures and see what they say on value. There is a guy who writes in Classic Bike magazine called Rick Parkington, you could drop him an email and ask for his opinion. Good luck hope it goes well and sorry for your loss.

  5. Why dont you get the restriction removed on the Kawasaki ninja in september ( as I understand it its only programming in the ecu) then ride the bike until spring next year giving you time to get used to it and more time to find look for your next bike ready for summer. Just a thought.
  6. Looking on the CMNL website it does look very much like the original carb. Have a look here although this is the canada spec from that year they all had the single carb on this engine. Honda CMX250C REBEL 1997 (V) CANADA CARBURETOR - buy CARBURETOR spares online (cmsnl.com) Looks like the carb needs a complete clean and service kit gaskets and new float valve as the rubber tip is probably rock hard and has a ridge in it so it wont seal.
  7. You need to check the charging system is working properly and also the reg/rec to see if that has fried to and wiring to and from it.
  8. Hi there ive just googled KSR 125 spares as ive never heard or seen one and come up with this website Home | CMPO | Chinese Motorcycle Parts Online Also there are loads of parts on ebay for sale and bikes being broken for spares. Have you checked the speedo and fuel gauge to confirm they are faulty first?
  9. Sadly there are a lot that go to the TT and leave their brain at home and think its their private race track, it was one of the reasons I liked the Manx gp it is a lot more chilled and the plus is a bigger mix of bikes from all ages not just sportsbikes. Im keeping in touch though this year listening to practice each day on the radio. Looks like the weather is going to be great this week.
  10. Welcome to the forum its never to late to get into bikes and biking, As honda said in their advertising years ago " You meet the nicest people on a honda" and that turned out well for Honda. Its not all about the biggest the fastest or the most expensive machine, you can have just as much fun on a moped as you can on a superbike. Its all relative just enjoy being on two wheels and seeing the world go by, Oh and watch out for morons trying to kill you from time to time.
  11. Stick with the standard sizes and buy a decent brand of tyre would be my sugestion, do not buy cheap crap you want a tyre you can feel confident in and grips when you need it.
  12. The switches could just be gummed up especially the neutral switch as this is probably covered in chain lube. The Clutch switch could be the plastic pin bit that extends when you pull in the clutch could have broken off or jammed.
  13. Look after it and keep up with the maintance and you should be fine, good luck on your new biking life im sure you will love it and the people you meet on the way.
  14. I would get on contact with the owner and give him the following options. 1. Collect the bike. 2. You deliver the bike to him if its not to far and you have a trailor or van. 3. Buy the bike back off him. 4. If he doesnt want to do any of the above notify him that from a set date you will start charging him storage fees ( state costs per week ) and after a set period and no resolution the bike will be disposed of or sold to pay storage fees. Deliver the letter to his address and keep a copy for your records and hope this jolts him in to action or his family may just spur him on to do one of the above. Good luck keep us updated on how you get on.
  15. Hi there this thread may be of use to you and give you an idea what can be achieved 2001 Honda Cityfly clr125 Restoration - Old Motorbikes, Projects and Restorations - The Motorbike Forum
  16. Have a look on this siteHonda Motorcycle Parts, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Motorcycle Parts - ATV, Classic Bike, Dirt Bike Parts (cmsnl.com) you will need your model number probably on the chassis plate then you can look up the part numbers and then you can search the web from there. The caliper was probably used on other suzukis so that will help. Try Robinsons foundry suzuki dealers they are very good at old stock parts to.
  17. To all those interested in road racing the North West 200 racing is being shown on BBC Northern Island today and the big race on Saturday. The weather is looking good it has been a bit wet this morning (thursday) but its drying rapidly and forcast good for Saturday. You can watch it live on BBC I player or on catch up.
  18. Your best bet would be ring a few Harley dealers and get their advice for a price and look on all the bike selling sites ebay, Autotrader and MCN. A lot of Harleys are individual or customised in some way so that can add detract from the base price. If you get talking to dealers if they are interested send them loads of pictures or spec they may even want to buy it. If you sell it privately DO NOT give address details or info where the bike is garaged to anyone you do not know if they want to view unfortunatly there are scum out there who will want to view check out the location then nick the bike on another day. Do not let anyone test ride the bike without handing you the selling price in cash before riding it and you want to see proof they have insurance. Do not let buyers see or photograph the V5c reg document especially the referance number as this can then be used to apply for a V5c in their name once they have nicked it later. If the bike is currently insured the moment you sell it cancel the policy as it has been known for the new owner not to have insurance and to crash the bike then the third party claim on the previous owners insurance. If you want to take the hassle and the strain out of selling the bike ring round a load of dealers for that style of bike and see what they would offer. Play one of against the other you wont get as much but bikes gone and one thing less for the family to worry about. I know this sounds a bit pessimistic but its better to be wise to the scams and scum out there these days. Good luck for your father in law on the stroke recovery road.
  19. For what its worth from the picture its got to be worth 500 quid. You could take a punt and advertise it and see what offers you get. People will buy anything to do up these days and parts a available.
  20. I listen to a radio consumer prog most morning down here on Three counties radio and it is unbelievable how companies still try to fob customers off and to take it up with the Manufactuer even huge retailers and online sellers. Your contract is always with the company that you paid the money to.
  21. Your contract is with Homebase as you brought it from them, Under the consumer rights act 2015 it is their responsability as the retailer to deal with it. Dont get fobbed off it failed within 6 months so it is up to them to prove you have broken it so you dont need and engineers report. So its up to them to pick it up free of charge and either fix, replace or refund. Just quote the said act and state the product has to be of reasonable quality, fit for purpose and last a reasonable amount of time for the price paid. Good luck.
  22. Batteries on small bikes take a bit of a beating really and unless you do a good hours riding with the revs up you probably dont put enough back into the battery for the omph you used starting the bike up. Plus you have the lights on indicators and stuff so the battery has a hard life. Throw in winter and cold and you can knock 25% of a good battery before you start. How old is your battery? if its getting on a bit it may pay you to keep it on a trickle charger to keep it topped up and have your lights turned off when you try to start it. Plus a alternator doesnt really start putting charge back into the battery until its reving over 4 thousand revs, so you can see how they can soon lose its power.
  23. Thats a nice job and hopefully saved a few quid.
  24. If it is a strainer you usually just wash them out then put it back in but if its a filter then that would be replaced. If the bike is brand new Honda may say the strainer does not need cleaning at such low mileage and just advice a change of oil then at the next service the strainer is cleaned. Have a look in the owners book or service schedule it may say what is done at each service.
