  1. Could be loads of things without more info. 2012 is a injection. Sounds like it’s getting fuel and spark then, sometimes if the gear sensor or the crank sensor isn’t quite quite right on the pick up, if it doesn’t get the right timing from the pick up it wont be doing it at the right time.
  2. Id agree with bender, main culprit to isolate first would be the alarm, even switching and alarm off doesn’t entirely make it drain free, only completely disconnecting its feed will. lights on while riding will make make little difference really IF the charging system is fine. When you say it charges ok, how did u check it and what did you get? id be checking over the whole rectifier, stator, wiring or grounds system. scooters are actually quite power hungry as they need loads of good solid power for the cvt and extra gubbins, much like automatic car do.
  3. Hi and welcome . good bunch of people here.
  4. That is why I said they don’t come fitted from the factory. pinlock will naturally knock the optically spec out, but to me I’d take that over fogging of the visor any day or having 60+ mph of freezing wind hitting my eyes because I’ve had to faff about opening and closing the visor abit just to clear it…..
  5. Tried it many moons ago. potatoes do sort of work but it’s very hit and miss with its performance and very short duration, not worth the effort when other products are about imho. plus trying to buff the shite out of it to get rid of the smears and marks is a mare and far worst than any slightly scratched visor and light ghost ringing a pinlock would ever do. thats my experience with it.
  6. No . obviously it’s not want you want to hear but you asked and that is what I would say. you may get more out of it for giving in, in the long run, like favourable things or extra time out for being a good boy! if I was to really sell it to you. but really it’s about priority, time together…. Up to you but thats my take on it and what I would do, 20+years of happiness together, 1child, no marriage chains, a few hurdles like recent disability still overcoming and still going strong….and I still get to ride on my bike.
  7. I’ll be blunt, from the folk lore story there is no win win, especially if that is your intention. if you want the better morale high ground you will give in, your time on the bike can come a week or so later, the biking season has barely begun.
  8. Triple glazed! . if your long sighted it shouldn’t bother you as much hence why most long sighted have mucky glasses and less likely to know , from experience. I wear glasses and can wear contacts but of the last few years mostly just glasses. . fiddles, it’s bad enough with tyres (cost and complexity) and that’s with roughly the same chemical composition to do the exact same thing Or the tint changing lenses. id wouldn’t want to pay for the cost of those two totally different plastic properties (hard deflector and the other an absorbent one) and for it to be optically correct to be able to work. at least this way if you goose either of them you don’t have to shell out a fortune for a small scratch.
  9. This is a slow reving, low hp, new rider friendly, fuel economy and heavy restriction emissions bike designed from the off… With an air filter for your engine, at most will be a hp if ur extremely lucky and I say that with being generous to the point of laughing…the only gains is to allow more shite (air contamination) into the intake. air filters aint a myth as such but certainly have a lot of old time hard set marketing bs attached to them as to what could be achieved with that design. depending on what you have to start with (engine design and type and filter design and type) will effect what you can get out but generally the gains are very minimal in general. plus your insurance may have an issue with it too adding to cost, compounding the problem. if you want more, get a bike with more hp from the off or bigger engine bike. The only really benefit for less snatching on-off-on throttle would be to remap it, gains would be made a Hp or two questionable but the cost of remap would put you nearer to a more powerful bike to start with… so realistically it’s not even worth doing it on the basis cleaning the filter.
  10. Ive used pinlocks since the I started riding, use pinlocks most of the time. fliddly at start but when you know how to fit them best it’s easy. currently the pinlock is mounted to a clear visor and the second tinted I rarely bothered with a pinlock cos if it’s nice enough for a tinted (with the pinlock pins still in), it’s nice enough not to need it. But I have on occasions put a insert into them. i used to change them every year but more recently every two or three now . plus I like the idea of two visors incase one is damaged etc as a back up till I can get another one. most helmets don’t come with them mounted from the factory, but the insert is left in the box ready to be fitted. to do with selling product to an optical specification that is fitted when sold but the insert knocks it out when fitted hence the reason they aint. silicone do fail, I’ve heard many years ago if it has a cheaply made one if it’s been mounted ages ago sat somewhere and really stuck to the visor.
  11. Anti reflective coats an opticians would offer you prior to purchasing the glasses. One of the many by product of the coating is quite good with first level fogging. would be cheaper long term than buying any potions let alone convenience saved. ive tried many in the past but most are not that good for many reasons and not worth the bother for me. just be careful with some advertising potions as they can melt or make brittle.
  12. Yeah bummer especially as that Bridgestone tyre looks pretty much new .
  13. Get well soon bianco. . well I decided to change oil on the gsf, last time done in late 23 and only done just over 2 thou mls since then so not many miles . the filter looked quite clean inside, oil condition wasnt bad, no shiny bits, yet some odd clumps and foreign matter was in the pan. looked and felt like little bit of jelly, separation, somehow with tiny stones (they were hard) mixed in with it, so what exactly it was or how they got in there im not sure. sorry no pics unfortunately as I was pushed to sort out other matters. quite liked the racing filter with nut on the top, though working out what torque setting it likes was fun.. Trying to get the cap off the filter afterward took more effort than really wanted so at least now next time I won’t have to bother with it. so what went in was cheap oil, my plan now will be to change it at the end of this year again and see what drop outs this time…
  14. Agree with bender but if you don’t, you definitely won’t. maybe it leads than the state the justice system now: sometimes the police and court have to spend more time on the case than the scum gets….. the court having more of an impact of say instead giving a measly three months for an offence out of the maximum 6 yet out in a week or two on “good behaviour” as it is in the book written long ago before the words crimm’s and rozzers or anyone got near the moon. which is a waste of everyone time, money and effort, so maybe it could put pressure on to increase its given amount to say minimum of a year no early release? You never know we life in hope…. I’m with David, I think some are looking too far and beyond what is actually worded. maybe some have had rough time with the police I understand but it’s very few and far between that could still happen regardless of this but at least more could be done about the bigger problem. well you know what someone will say, if you’ve done nowt wrong, you have nothing to fear….
  15. All the big tyre manufacturers make great tyres, the buyer needs to make a good choice for them and their needs. You can’t go wrong with either but they are for very different people. The Michelins are designed to honestly cope with everything very well in all sorts of weathers and conditions by what I’d call a Goldilocks effect. Bridgestones are a little bit narrower band width to work best in, imho. Now the reason Chris might say slippy effect will be down to the softer carcass of the tyre compared to Pirelli or what ever he could have had on before like a Bridgestone. so it’s technically more comfortable with the same pressure in, you could put more pressure in to give it a harder feel, though taking it out of a hard carcass is difficult to get right. the only could be viewed as a negative is how or what you prefer they tyre to communicate to you, some prefer the tyre to shout and tell them everything what it’s doing (bridgestone) while others will think it’s too hard, plasticity and uncomfortable, while others will want a quieter ride (mich) but the other side of that is some will not know what it’s doing and can’t trust it as it’s not telling them enough even though the tyre is working well in the conditions. me personally im inbetween, so I stick to Pirelli/Metzelers and Contis, the wife prefered the Pirellis over the contis, but if I had to choose the between the bridge and Mich, I’d go with the mich and cope with the lower talk than have the hard crashy shouty one but that’s just me, I had less issues and never had grip problems with any Michs what so ever but believing the tyre not saying much in terrible conditions I found the hardest aspect with them. the Bridgestone are not shite, they have there fans and that’s fine for them, but I found them just hard, unforgiving, tiresome, and had a grip issue twice with them, not enough for me to crash with them but I certainly didn’t want to push my luck with them at any time and was glad to have them off the bike…its just not what I want out of a tyre. everyone will have they’re needs and wants, you’ll need to try them and see what works for you.
  16. Sorry, forgot about that section. Thanks! Cant tell me you wasn’t tempted to use it as a slapaphone (what tune would you play?) or shout/fart down a tube!
  17. That’s rough Maws…. Why blackhole sun? Only difference would have been an chance of potential double chance of money with one swift bag to their eyes… Anyway back to the general: I have issues with a few other EU states let alone non. as with any EU state let along anyother- Yes aslong as you bring money, lots to make it bare-able … if I was to be stereotypical: I don’t think anyone likes people with the British passport, most of the ones with one I know I don’t and I have one…..
  18. He is a legend to my eyes. Ive read some of this earlier stuff, to be honest I’d love to read a whole load of that again plus more modern stuff and I’m not a mega book worm. I’m not a Yorkshire man but utter respect to the man. the one helmet design (which I have) and leathers attached to him are instant icon. if I could have it done I’d my next a lid painted of it, especially before any passing. Very well informed and knowledgeable, Straight to the point, only negative is last few years sounds like he can get somewhat frustrated with some others around him, thats my view. Id like him to do a massive book with an actual good writer/historian to get a really good read.
  19. We use to laugh about the watches, when she did 40thousand steps on her day off, if she changed to a twin engine it would be 80 thousand… oi button it…I know you dirty minded lot.
  20. No it’s the next TNT sports yearly subscription cost. Running joke keep it going, insert your own:
  21. Yeah gotta agree and not just for helmets! they should all be chased down, bankrupted and jailed for a very long time! the con artists.
  22. Looks great, Love abit of centre lathe and polishing work! 3,4,5,6 sparks my imperfections ocd off, Reminds me of my youth… the pinkish K and N filter vibes too. if I could do the same with my suzuki! holy hell I’m turning french!
