But lately, with driving there has been a big uptick with lane hoggers, and aggressive driving. Confronting it with a quick flash of the lights or a blip of the horn, results in what appears to be a tantrum. Alternatively, you are cruising in lane 1, and come up on a car sat in lane 3, they do all they can to not make eye contact with you as you pass on the inside. Usually I give a slightly unimpressed look, and if they catch my eye they bolt their head forward, almost as if they're used to it happening. I've seen more right lane hoggers in the past year, than the last 10 combined, I'm fairly sure. No idea why it became so popular recently. If I get distracted and lane hog accidentally, and I'm flashed, I usually get out of the way and wave sorry to signal I don't usually do that. Must be exhausting to just think with your feelings and lose the plot over something like that. I'm in Belgium at the moment and commented only yesterday how impressed I am at lane discipline here. As soon as an overtake ( well undertake really, cos they drive on the wrong side of the road) is done, indicator goes on and move back in to lane 1. This could only be for around 100 yards or so before the next car is overtaken. Speeding doesn't seem to be a problem either. I only wish the road markings were more understandable to Johnny Foreigners like me. 2 Quote

Helps that in Germany in general trucks are not allowed in any lane other than 1 so you don't get these endless queues when one tries and fails to overtake another. Also they aren't allowed on the road on Sunday at all except for certain special categories. Of course there are a lot of complaints about foreign drivers not following the rules although if the police catch them they will get done. 2 Quote

Gerontious Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I had to laugh. Plonker who thought he could bully his way through at lights. He saw me indicating right and decided to floor it to get through before I could complete. Thing is, it’s not one you can cross the line at until you get a green light. So I couldn’t turn anyway!! He didn’t time it right and got flashed. He must’ve seen the flash - his eyes were like saucers. so funny. 1 5 Quote

The french also get out of the way or leave their indicator on to show they're also trying to get their foot down when the car infront moves. Works so well. Very good way to make "enthusiastic" progress 1 Quote
daveinlim Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Woman in an Audi A1 cutting everyone up for miles. I passed through several roundabouts where there are 4 lanes onto the roundabouts. Lane 1 goes left, lanes 2&3 go straight and lane 4 goes right. It's all very well signed posted. But every time she goes in lane 1, cuts up the people in the correct lanes and drives on. In the short time I was near her she did this 4 times including cutting up a huge truck that had to hit its breaks to not squish her. 2 1 Quote
onesea Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 I am going to nominate the male (to old to be a youth and certainly no Gentleman) who pulled out of a drive/ side road in-front of me. Recieve ing a blast on my horn and a stern look in his wing mirror for the pleasure. Wing mirror to stop his temptation to brake test me. He then stopped them to speak to me about my riding and how I was in the wrong, ”Its not my fault I did not see you” I tried to explain politely how he was wrong, his response was you “F¥(king prick next time I will run you down”. The temptation to remove his wing mirror was strong, however I had better things to be doing than waiting for the police to arrive after the enviable brawl that would of ensued. 4 Quote
daveinlim Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Whilst not technically endangering anyone else this guy still needs to be jailed. Stopped in traffic lights and I look in my rear view mirror. The guy behind me is wearing a vest and licking his own arm pit. The gives it a wipe and smells his finger. Guy needs locking up and probably a shower. 6 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The absolute effing moron who decided to take his gin palace the wrong way on the maritime equivalent of the M1. Given a choice of hitting him or piling up the beach he was going to lose. He graciously gave way to be greeted with the 2 fingered salute as he went down my right hand side. 3 3 Quote

Bender Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Royal fail for the 3rd time and me for listening to the Mrs. Another form needed sending, they sent a nice envelope with reference no's and the manager who has taken ownership of it, I now believe they think I'm suspect or something I wanted to send it DHL, picked up at door guaranteed next day, no it's or butts. Wife says no, special delivery, fully tracked, insured upto 1k and guaranteed by 1pm following day. Tinkicker Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Unfortunately I no longer belong in this self obsessed world. Do not think i am suicidal or anything, but this world is far different to the world I grew up in. In some ways I am glad I have at the most another 20 years to suffer on this shithole of a planet. A couple of instances just on the road today. 60 mph limit. A twat decided he or her had all the time in the world and proceeded along at at 35 mph with half a mile of traffic behind him, trying to get to work on time. His or her time is obviously far more important than the 200 people stressed to f**k behind him/ her. A roundabout. Five out of six cars could not be bothered to extend a finger and flick on the indicators to give the other drivers a clue as to their intentions. I freaking hate the self centred world we now live in. 2 2 Quote
S-Westerly Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 It wasn't that much better in my youth 50 years ago. Being stuck behind some brain dead f**kwit isn't exactly new. 2 Quote

You have to set out your credentials: what you did, who saw, and what kind of a nob it's shown you to be. Best with pics. Quote
