NeilM Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Good morning all. Well. Had a strange couple of weeks. Monday before last. 11 days back I tested positive for covid again. This time tho it proper knackered me. Comedy day in hospital Tuesday having all the lung x rays etc. Put me on some horse antibiotics and they seem to be working. Tested negative for the first time today so happy with that. Still a bit poorly but Lisa is no longer asking me to donate my organs (i kid you not. Poor lass was in a right state) lol. Tell you what though. First person to tell me covids nowt when I'm fit again will get a right slapping 6 1 Quote
Steve_M Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Good morning. Son, pregnant partner and oldest child all have COVID. The lad caught it at school and passed it on. I anticipated them getting covid but not from that source - she’s a paramedic, my son practices judo, both up close and personal activities, so to speak. In other news, today we will finish remodelling our master bedroom after six long months of working/delays/interruptions? What was multiple scruffy disjointed zones with no flow is now a rather smart (if I say so myself) master bedroom, walk through dressing / wardrobe area and en-suite. 5 Quote
Tiggie Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 The other night I decided to write out a task list of all the little jobs around the house that need doing. I find having it written down keeps my brain a bit calmer as I'm not stressing trying to remember it all By the time I'd finished writing it I had 53 things written down Some of it is quick five minute jobs like fix the handle on bedroom drawer, others are a bit more time consuming like putting a new roof on the shed. Think I'll start with the simple ones first 2 Quote

Slowly some of them could take over the board **** !!!!Underlined circled asterisks bold !!!! **** 2 3 Quote
Tiggie Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 @onesea I am purposely keeping my list hidden from the Wife as I'm terrified to even imagine how long it would become!! Quote

It might start out that way but it very soon spirals into a major disaster with parts being unobtainable and special tools needed. This almost certainly entails a stop off at the pub to seek advice from a bloke who knows about these things. 3 2 Quote

Yup no such thing, our bedroom was not going to involve me lifting a finger as I had loads of crap to be getting on with, nope we were getting people in. You can imagine how that went, some how it turned into flooring up, new radiator, walls back to brick, re seal and trim window that was only fitted a year ago(they were shit), new window sill, repair wall under window, plaster board every wall, soundproof boards on joining wall 45 something kg per 4x4 sheet, re make chimney breast wall and fit a corner shelf, new ceiling, coving, skirting, TV, curtain pole, underlay, proper rubber stuff not foam shit, I should have got sliding wardrobes in kit form as wardrobe fitter is another story, Ohh and paint everything. Yes I look back and fondly remember not having to do anything, it is brought up at every opportunity 3 Quote

Ended up tiling the whole lot and fitting a new bathroom. 1 Quote
dynax Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Good morning Been feeling really rough the last couple of days, was sweating like a ( choose your own metaphor) during the night. No time to rest though too many things to do today, one of which is to get Xena in for her first MOT. Quote

It's spreading at the moment, half the staff at the school where my wife works are down with it and our daughter (who is a teacher) tested positive yesterday. Quote

It's not Covid, I know what it is as I had the same symptoms a few weeks ago, and it happened a day or two after knocking out heavily sooted up chimneys. Quote
dynax Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 On a positive note Xena passed her first Mot, with a couple of advisories, the front brake pads which are due for replacement, I already have the pads to put in, and some slight play in the headstock, just needs a little adjustment 6 Quote

bonio Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Loads-a-sun here on the Costa Lowestoftia. It's hardly stopped sunning since January. Sloe bushes all in bloom. Willow trees coming into leaf. Full-on spring. Only wish I had some time to ride the bike... 3 Quote
