I can see the cabinet forming nicely 😁

Can't think of a position for Darling though, maybe foreign affairs?

Ah, well..... firstly it was a very windy day (unlike the dawn of the day of the battle) so I thought I'd try out a new ( to me) radial sail. However on opening the bag it turned out to be a full size sail of which I have two already.

I had to borrow a club radial to fit to my new lower mast section which meant swapping over the kicker and downhaul rigs.

After about an hour on the water I was getting a bit tired and was on my last lap of the lake when on a gybe around the leeward mark my downhaul snapped. This nearly turned me over as it meant the sail instantly powered up. I avoided the capsize but in doing so the boom flew back across the boat cracking me on the head quite seriously.

Getting back upwind to the launch area with a busted downhaul was interesting as even with the radial sail it was overpowered with no downhaul control.

The boat is mended but I have an impressive lump on my head. Plus my pride is severely dented.

It's the top plate!

I will get a pic soon. It is repairable but it's a cast stove so not easy to repair

I have a plan though and hopefully I should be able to make a steel top for it

@dynax You can see the crack that runs through the bolt!

I am taking it apart today and getting a bit of 10mm steel plate and will make a new top for it

The log burner was among the main things I really wanted out of My Wife's Dad's shed when he passed. He loved his and would always have it going during the cold months. Unfortunately when the house was put up for sale it was listed as part of the property so I couldn't take it out
