Down here in Gloucestershire it doesn't look as if mowing season ever stops apart from being wet of course.

I am sat in our local hospital waiting to pick up my wife who is in for minor surgery. The nurse has just called in the next patient....guy by the name of Jack Daniels.

Judging by the age of the old guy who got up I don't think his parents did it deliberately.

I used to get paid for doing that…

I think mowing season is pretty well finished up here. Too cold and wet. This is good ‘ cos it gives me time to do some diy. Underfloor insulation task underway.

Did the floorboards come up leaving all the nails in the joists?

They did. Mostly. A bit of a bugger, that. It was too hard to extricate them so I’ve taken a bit of a pragmatic approach. The joists that are now loose I’m turning upside down so the nails are at the bottom. Those that I can’t do that with, I’ve cut the nails off level with the top of the joist and will re-nail a little to one side of the existing nails (he said optimistically) when putting the floorboards back.

Evening blokes and ladyblokes,

I need baffles. Took the bike into town to get some keys cut and my earplug fell out on the left. Bloody hell this thing makes a din. No idea if you can retrofit baffles to my pipes but I'm going to find out.

Get a 'Screaming Eagle' upgrade - The exhaust are baffled so that they are (just) under the legal maximum at full revs. 😈

Tbh I’m keen not to replace pricey pipes with other pricey pipes. I’ve already got these.

If you think it’s bad just think of the poor buggers (pedestrians etc) that have to hear it if they like it or most likely not as your going past….

so these ones are not road legal?

you should have re searched and really think about what your purchase will have an effect or potential options availability. A poor choice will now cost you more…Well hopefully you'll remember next time. 👍🏽

Go back and edit this post, I’m pretty sure you can be a little bit more patronising if you try.

@Mawsley

A thumping loud twin, (which I love to hear) is far less offensive than a bike like my ZZR.

Mine has Beowolf cans and when I bought it I absolutely hated the noise, it was like riding through a small tunnel, flaming awful. I spent a few months trying to find an alternative system until one day I saw on the Beowolf website that they sell road legal baffles that go straight in. Now it just sounds sporty with a little character. As much as I love bikes, I really don't like machines screaming at 10k with straight through pipes flying down the roads, it's pointless, as is that extra 3Hp.

I wouldn't worry too much about the HD being loud, maybe look at the V&H website to see if they have a simple solution? Or just contact them.

Tracked down a set of baffles - but I’m dubious if they’ll clip much off it.

Upside, most of my riding is countryside - and chap clearly hadn’t looked yesterday…until I dipped the clutch and cracked the throttle while performing a weave. He bloody saw me then! Slamming on his brakes after creeping over the junction line 😂

What’s it the hairy MAG ones say about loud pipes? 😁

I ride a quiet CBF and a less quiet Triumph Bobber. The Bobber has the stock pipes which have a lovely note and are quite loud enough. I notice a very considerable difference in how traffic is aware of my presence between the two bikes. So from my experience louder pipes are a massive boost to road safety.

Well, you could have come with me to the RC boat club and help me to burn out a brand new high speed brushless motor. Not sure if the 90amp speed controller has also gone. Expensive day out. 🙄

Well, speed controller was ok just had to reprogram it. New high speed motor fitted AND a smaller less aggressive propeller ( standard 45 instead of racing 55) fitted.   Boat performs ok and the motor so far lasted longer than 2 minutes 🤣🤣
