My beehives are all strapped down with bricks on top of them. So far it's quite calm here. Sod's law says I have a funeral on an exposed hill top this afternoon when the wind is forecast to be over 70mph.

Jus cause you've got a light breeze down south its big news 😂

We lost thousands of trees up here when the last big storm hit, a lot of them simply snapped in half they didn't get the chance to fall over.

God forbid someone snaps a nail in London.

It is a tad breezy, here even by Northern standards.

I went to the beach today, I was surprised how few had ventured that way.

Have to say on the whole the South West gets more severe wind storms than the North of England.  (sorry Bender). Its knocked my joining the ship back as Milford Haven cleared the berths so there's now at least 2 ships ahead of mine.

Slept through it after a last minute night shift, but just to be on the safe side I moved the bike to a more sheltered spot, took the cover off and did that rare thing left it on its side stand. Too dark to see how it fared. I’ll have a look at dawn and put it back into its normal spot. Covered. Looking out front there are definite signs of the after effects. But we seem to have got off fairly lightly this time. I wonder if I’ll live long enough to see these predicted hurricanes due to a warming ocean. That’ll be fun.

I have you know I had a near miss with a tree today,  I had stopped,  doesn't show well but it covered other side of road, really need to get a cordless chainsaw.

@S-Westerly we are well sheltered on the east coast, normally miss most of the rain and worst of wind, not with arwen, I will get some pics of the trees down, I've been driving past them for a month 😂

We had 100mph at Seahouses, coast took brunt of it, we get a bad one ever 10yrs or so on average

When I lived in Weardale back in the day, we had one storm out of the North which dumped a shed load of snow and removed quite a few of the tiles off the garage. Then the snow melted in the next storm a few days later which was out of the South and there were massive floods which took out bridges which had been there for ever and flooded villages which had never been in living memory.

I rode my Blackbird to Anglesey for a weekend away. I left in what I thought was the calm before the storm, and it got quite blustery when I was down by the sea. But nothing too bad, 40-50mph gusts and were short lived. It's there as I needed to free up space in my garage to crack on with the ER5, and I'm going back next month to do a 3-5 days servicing it and getting it ready for sale. Prices seem to be climbing for Blackbirds.

I walked up the coastal path at Moelfre on Friday to see where the Royal Charter went down. The ship went down in nearly 100mph winds.

At the memorial, there were waves hitting the cliffs and jumping up 50 feet. The spray then caught by the wind and sweeping across the hill I was on and made for a nice picture. I stepped forward to catch a small video, and as a small wave hit, a big one off camera hit and all you see/hear is a sudden spray swipe across the camera, my girlfriend squealing, and me toppling to the right. Soaked my back, and legs. Gave some villagers a chuckle as I shuffled to a nearby pub to warm up.

I used to fish off the rock ledge near where the Royal Charter went down. Spectacular bit of coast but worthy of respect in bad weather conditions. I had to rescue a couple of lads in a fishing boat whose engine had failed. I just about got them off the rocks and round the headland but the swell was huge. It was a case of watching for it coming and juggling the tow so they didn't get swamped. Silly buggers didn't have a proper anchor set up.
