Bender Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 I've now decided a one the same size with only one draw would be more useful for what we tend to cook, would be much better for doing a chicken or a couple of steaks, even baking a small loaf, you live and learn Quote
rennie Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 We have the Ninja with 1 drawer that can be divided, loving it so far and learning new recipes as we go. We had toad i the hole the other day! Marvellous! I think we're going to try the yorkshire puds in it today Quote

husoi Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) Today I almost got into the world of air fryers. Aldi's sale of double air fryer for under 60 quid would be too good to miss. Unfortunately, the sale that was starting today on the website, was done last Thursday. Obviously, all gone Wasn't meant to be. And I saved 60 quid Edited October 6, 2024 by husoi 1 1 Quote
Tinkicker Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Once you have one, you can never go back to the oven. Ours is used every day, oven never these days. I reckon it paid for itself a long time ago. Only bind is cleaning the fat from the tray bottom. I hate it. 2 Quote
husoi Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 That's probably the biggest issue I have with getting one. I suspect there will be grease everywhere and not like bike grease 1 Quote
Nick the wanderer Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 One of the joys of the air fryer is the lack of masses of oil just use those little silicone inserts. Quote

Bender Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 We have silicone liners but I often just line bottom with foil. Quote
husoi Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Pretty much what I do with baking paper. With advantage the paper doesn't stick to the food 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 We've got a small one. Hardly ever use it and still prefer the oven for most things. Traditionalists us. 1 Quote
husoi Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Considering they are made in china, and that AliExpress sells them from 50 quid for 8L dual fryer to 150 for better quality and up to 10L. I'm not paying extra for it. Quote
daveinlim Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 We have the big dual one from ninja. Upgraded from a Lidl one last Christmas. We used it for everything that would have gone in the oven unless it doesn't fit which is rare. Totally worth it simply for making oven chips worth eating. 2 Quote
Tiggie Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Ours broke recently and I've got to say I really hated using normal oven while waiting for the replacement 2 Quote
rennie Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 We're using ours 2 or 3 times a week at least Quote
Bender Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Shorter cooking time, less electric, crispy things very crispy when you want and fantastic at cooking steaks 2 Quote
daveinlim Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Another thing that it does really well is pork crackling. Slice it off the meat when it's resting and shove it back in the air fryer to get it extra crispy. 5 Quote
S-Westerly Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 One thing I really don't like is pork crackling. So that doesn't sell me on an air fryer! 1 Quote
rennie Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I love crackling! And scratchings! Unfortunately the few teeth I have left don't! 2 Quote
