  1. We call this Suffolk driving. Odd to think it happens in other places too.
  2. I've only read the reviews, but it didn't shine... far more was written about styling than handling.
  3. It was a fix they pursued keenly in the 70s when rectories in village were sold for tuppence ha'penny. If only they'd held on for them for another 40 or 50 years...
  4. Nice post - some really good proposals there; they seem to be well thought-out.
  5. TL; DC
  6. This is what happened when my bike was nicked in 2020. Given the police report, they accepted the claim and asked for the purchase receipt, V5 and pics. Then for the keys. Then we settled a price. Then they paid out. But the whole process only took a couple of weeks. Keep someone strung along for months isn't on. Bit surprised really, as Markerstudy were the underwriters for my insurance too.

    New bike

I'm a bit biassed as I think the ZX is cracking bike, but I don't know the GSXS as well. What kind of riding do you do? Have you ridden them both?
  8. Apologies for the crap video quality. From the house this evening. Rooks going a bit crazy.
  9. So what are you meant to do now when you meet a pedestrian on a country lane? Most people I came across this morning scuttled into the hedgerow, and I went slowly past - this is what would have happened last week as well. But one chap stood still on the tarmac with his dogs sat next to him, which meant it wasn't safe for me to continue, so I stopped and had him and his dogs thread their way between the car and the hedge. Road was only about 5 foot wide.
  10. The kitchen has a been looming on the distant horizon for over four years now. Luckily I've always been able to come up with some other job that is more pressing.

    Dented rim

Surely that worth a question to the council? With screenshots. At first you'll just get the "oh there was a computer error" line, but if you keep on at it, they'll work out they're being watched.
  12. Covent Garden? It's become so soulless since they closed the old market.

    Dented rim

I wouldn't ride on that as it is. Definitely needs repair, tyre needs replacing. I hit a pohole on the A14 a couple of years back. I took a pic and filled in Highways Agency's form and got a partial rebate on the cost of the new tyre (the rim was fine). Worth a punt.
  14. Never given it much thought. I do have a breakdown card just in case.
  15. And the lawyers won't be going hungry.
  16. I'd say take your time and go ride as many bikes as you can. It took me 2 years to find a bike to replace my GS, and when I started I'd never have imagined I'd have ended up with an MV.
  17. Well knock my socks off - it was by Kevin.
  18. What a great bike! Sorry I'm not much help on investors

    Welcome GuzziRick

Great set of bikes there, each with its own distinct character.
  20. So - you've mastered the art of the short story

    Amazon

Decided to give up on Amazon for 2022.
  22. For rule H2, it basically means that when you're in a town and you come a junction on the left, if you see any pedestrians anywhere near, you're going to have to stop. Where you get streams of people on the pavements town centres will be impossible to drive through, I'd have thought.
  23. I'm in a similar situation, as rode on a moped for a year before taking my CBT. I always put in one more year of NCB than years with a full licence. Seems to me that that's the best answer I can give. Never had it rejected or questioned.
  24. Was going to sign up for that one, but not enough holiday available to fit it in
  25. Happy birthday mate. Hope it's been a good one.
