  1. IMO I would drop the Trumpet, the other two would get you to the South of France quicker than a rocket, cruise all day in comfort. Get some tests rides in, if they will let you.............
  2. More like Fish & Peas at noon for me
  3. I like the idea, 'Sunrise in Scarborough', but I'm too lazy to get up early and ride the two and a half hours to get there
  4. Anywhere in the Northwest is local for me then.
  5. Missed the latest new brief. Has the stay local rule been abolished, thinking of venturing out this week after work.
  6. The strap could do with a clip on accessory helmet bag to protect the lid, you know, like the MotoGP Messenger Helmet Bag sold by Sportsbike shop
  7. My alternative to carrying a large chain and padlock (only when touring) is to use one disc lock with alarm through the front disc and a Mul-T-lock padlock through the rear disc, a bike cover and bikes fitted with tracker. Ground Anchor, chains and padlocks, any of the sold secure ones within your budget. Grip locks in my opinion aren't worth a carrot.
  8. You can purchase gloves with touch screen fingers, like the Rukka Forsair Gloves. I have tried several mobile phone apps and found a dedicated Nav unit best, often supported with phone app.

Being a mere mortal I have no legally permitted reason to travel abroad. Can we travel to or visit our devolved neighbours. I was contemplating the RBLR1000 (Northern route) this year just to get some miles in.

I take it holidays abroad will be banned under the new law coming into force 29th March until 30th June, no idea what will happen after that.
  11. I recommend the MT07 too however, if you want bonkers fun, skip them all - a KTM1290 will have you shitting bricks (there's a comedy sketch in there somewhere) I kid you not.
  12. His phone was in his hip pocket

I like travelling to Europe, not keen on another staycation.
  14. Yep, I always warm the bike up for a good five minutes before setting off. It takes me that long to put my gloves and lid on, walk around the bike, check the tyres then move on.
  15. Sorry cant help you. Once Joined the BMW Motorcycle Club (Northwest) Nearly put me off motorcycling for good. So now I refuse to join any club that would accept me as a member. (Groucho)
  16. I still take a local Michelin map for a p[articular area when touring abroad, good for seeking interesting sites and routes, sat nav is also used to track my routes.
  17. For what its worth, I prefer a dedicated sat nav especially for route planning. I bought the KTM app, good as it is, it doesn't half suck the life out of the phones battery. The phone/app is good for shorter journeys in my opinion, but for touring etc a dedicated sat nav works well for me.
  18. Been using the foam type plugs for years, but the longer they were in my ear the more uncomfortable they became. Now moved on to custom plugs, started with the Auritech Custom fit then moved on to Custom Fit Guards, both have passive filters in them - enable me to listen to music/take calls etc through my headset. If I recall the CFG were about £90.
  19. The headlight unit reminds me of an old Hoover vacuum cleaner we once had
  20. A good Auto-Locksmith should be able to do it for you, dependant on the type of transponder that is. I cant recall anyone off the top of my head who does this in the North East however these do in the North West Welcome to Bolton Lock Company Ltd • Maybe these but its not cheap Auto Locksmith Newcastle | North East Vehicle Keys
  21. The red master key is used for programming new keys, the ECU will then identify two different keys for the bike, however if you don't have a red key, dependant on which transponder chip is used, you should be able to clone a new key however, using this process to obtain a new key, the ECU would think there is only one key due to it being cloned. (lost myself there for a minute )
  22. Why is second key doomed, can you not have it cloned....
  23. Just click on clear editor - job done. As for the forum, I like the new format however, I haven't been here that long, and as for Technical queries! sadly that's a sign of the times I think. edit: not read earlier post that'll teach me
  24. I'll be watching, I hope it goes well.
  25. Hopefully from next door when I fit mine
