  1. Those things are huge! To be fair, they do look bigger in the picture, although the 40l & 36l panniers arnt that wide, total width 101cm . however my shit photography still doesn't make it anymore convincing. .
  2. Installed some mahoossive 'Bumot Panniers and toolbox'
  3. Great pics, great phone. I have the A70 and I thought the pictures on that phone were good. I like the fact it is a dual sim phone. Work/Private without the need to carry two phones.
  4. Looks like its turning in to a good trip.
  5. 70 mile ride to the KTM dealers for the 1st service, 120 mile ride home . Colwyn Bay - Betws-y-coed - Llangollen - Ruthin
  6. That's just yuk. I use A Coolmax Helmet Liner. A great little beanie that wicks away moisture, just throw it in the wash each week.
  7. Because that is the specified oil grade and the bike is still in warranty. so, for now I'm sticking to the schedule - to the letter. The brand is Castrol. and it exactly matches the spec in the owners manual. JASO T 903 MA 10W/30 API SG (or higher) - its SL Strange to specify 10W30 though? And I'd have gone with Motul! Another one for Motul Although I have just stupidly paid over the odds for Yamalube for the MT07
  8. We’re lead by donkeys. 2020 is stuffed, I've given up for this year & planning for next I admire the OP due diligence and enthusiasm to travel abroad. I too was meant to be off over the Timmelsjoch this year. However, with all the uncertainty on travel to and from abroad, and my lack of enthusiasm to keep abreast with all the latest travel advice. I have decided to stay here and see more of the UK. Hopefully start again next year I hope you do get away and we get to read your european tour stories.
  9. Cats are usually nearer the engine due to the heat the need to operate at. I think it's a trend with a lot of new bikes to have huge exhausts. I found out yesterday I can replace the end can without involving the workshop or any remapping required
  10. Did your oiler fit on easy enough, it was just where to fit the main body that was the awkward bit for me Installation was the easy bit, finding where to put the body of the oiler was the difficult part. I ended up making a bracket and it connects the the screen fixings
  11. So you named it after a German bombing campaign? Other than that looks good Nooooo. I named it after an Austrian mountain goat, also known as an Alpine Ibex
  12. Picked up the Katoom today. Just missing the pillion heated Ergo seat, which will be fitted at first service, then all set for Scotland in September
  13. I have something similar on the MT07, a Cobrra Nemo 2. Quarter of a turn, gives about 3 mins of gravity fed oil on the chain
  14. Bloody hell! I suppose you gotta be careful if you're riding a bike at the time? It's not so bad as to be debilitating but it can be a distraction . I'll be passing down this road in a few weeks but I won't be staying in that hotel ! I'm none too keen on this bit of road either . Been past the Glascarnoch Dam many times on our return trip from oop North, usually a diff route going North, sometimes taking the Mallaig Ferry to Armadale and then over to Dornie.
  15. Hopefully picking up the new steed, just waiting for the call.
  16. In an ideal world maybe not but it would be pretty boring with only 25hp on tap as it would be extremely slow, I'd say that maybe 70hp is the least for the uk roads to make it fun and enjoyable but not over the top I commute on a Yamaha MT07 - all the fun of a 74bhp bike while commuting and roughly the size of a 125 for filtering
  17. I need 160Bhp with 140Nm torque
  18. Left in 84, and to this day I still wonder how I got too where I am now.

  20. Great Bike, glad you're enjoying it
  21. We have never had a problem finding accommodation (we don't do camping) when in France. We usually start looking around 4pm and the worst case scenario would be a Campanile, Ibis or at the very least a Formula One, but these are a last resort. We found no issues just rocking up to small Logis type hotels in the Towns. However, Covid-19 has probably put paid to that. Another formula we use is Booking.com. Plan a route at breakfast, sought destination and use Booking.com app to book your nights stay, or vise versa. Booking your accommodation at breakfast and planning a route there might be better.
  22. Cleaned it. No more riding the Bavarian Mudslinger, cos I sold the old girl, I'll be dropping her off in pastures new in a couple of weeks.
  23. As the subject says. I have a set of BMW Vario Expandable Panniers for sale. They're off my 2005GS, so would probably fit later models but I don't know which and to what year. £200 plus postage Forgot to add, there is a pannier key which will allow you to change to your ignition key (if you obtain extra wafers)
